What A STUPID idea by SWFC .

To get in the ground (seats) you need to go through the turnstiles into a compound then up the stairs to the upper stand or turn right and down the side of Leppings lane stand renamed the West Stand ? to the lower seats

.Before the disaster access was either to the right to the left or down the dangerous tunnel in the centre .

So unless this set up has changed since the last time I went to Hillsboro` and a new entrance and exit has been made ?,  chaos is predicted

Our fans are entering via the South stand side for the lower tier.

So not fair we should been given all upper stand and personal all of lower stand.

I hope no trouble but allowing home fans lower stand is crazy as home fans and away fans leaving at same time and allowing this in danger of trouble happening.

The Home fans are leaving from the South stand (Main stand) The RAMS fans are leaving from the West stand (Leppings Lane stand )

Apparently

So officially, it seems, the away end is the upper tier (only) of the west stand.  That suggests that any away allocation in the lower tier would be nothing more than a bonus.  A generous offer from SWFC, one might say.
If not, we are not being hard done to.

It's a bit like when we used to allow nigh on 5000 away fans in the south stand, but then crammed them in the corner and reduced their allocation.

For this upcoming game...
Entry (and exit) to the west stand upper (away fans) is via the back of the west stand.
The Wednesday fans who are in the west stand lower will be entering (and exiting) via the south stand... around the corner.
So no more "dangerous than pretty much most away games.

So, pretty much nothing to see here, and certainly nothing to have a moan about, apart from not getting the bonus of the lower tier which we may have been fortunate enough to have been offered in the past. (Which the club are under no obligation to give us).

Hmmm...

Well I personal think mixing home and away fans in the same stand is madness.

We do it in the East and South Stands but ensure that home and away supporters leave by different exits. No different to what will happen at Hillsborough. Your claims about the possibility of trouble are well overplayed. When did Derby last cause any trouble (and don't tell me Coventry because the home fans instigated that) or Sheffield Wednesday for that matter. There is no history of trouble between those two clubs at all, not even in the days when hooliganism was rife as far as I recall. Hooliganism can occur of course but by and large it's a fear from the distant past

I'm sure SWFC have dealt with big crowds before, and will also have a process in place that minimises the risks of trouble.  Be careful not to be too disrespectful, particularly before there's even been a problem!  It's not a good look.

Someone mentioned about a scuffle outside our east stand after the game yesterday?
I also seem to recall a couple of instances of unpleasant shenanigans in our south car park being reported earlier in the season?

Now, I hasten to add I didn't witness any of it, and am relying 100% on internet strangers, but might it be that DCFC and/or our own stadium security isn't quite perfect?

Like you say... it only takes a few to kick off... and that could just as easily be on Friargate, or in the intu centre, or when feeding the ducks in alvo park.

Having said all that, if I felt that uneasy about my own security/protection/safety at an away game, I'd probably opt for not attending, and staying home with the radio.

Here's hoping all goes well on the day, eh?

I keep out of the way mate but I just saying and with tensions will be boil point and emouations take over.

I know bolton away there was bolton fans in away bit lower tier in vip bit and forest fans to boot there was trouble some of derby fans got fed up if it and threw hot cup of tea all over them soon shut up and went inside.

And that what I am saying having home and away fans is not a good idea I think should of given us whole stand.

As I said I hope there no trouble.

Yeah.

You're probably right mate.
I guess you've witnessed a lot more aggro at matches than me, seeing as I haven't been a regular away fan since the late '70's/early '80's.

Maybe it's time to try something new... home fans only maybe?  Have the complete stadium to ourselves.  Gotta be worth a try, innit?

Been to Wendies a few times and found Yorkshire folk to be very decent. The problems will arise on the pitch by playing each other 3 times in succession. Little feuds start to occur - especially if McGoldrick gets special treatment. This feeds down to the fans , who get riled up.By the end of the third game , one team will be celebrating a cup final at Wembley and the other , bitter disappointment. Then it could get a bit naughty.

I witnessed a scrap between home and away fans outside the east stand on Saturday.  Mixing fans in the same stand will cause problems, mind you, it was Derby fans who started the punch up.

Or it could the oppersition winding up the derby fans during the game.

Ticket allocation should be decided on the amount of running done between Derby Midland Station and The Baseball Ground (and vice versa) 1974-1983.

No other criteria is valid.

You ought to have first dibs mate.

Mind you, you were supposed to be chasing behind the away fans, not in front of em.
