When was the last time we went 18 league matches without a win?

It' s the longest winless run in the history of the English league.  We only had to beat Doncaster or Barnsley to avoid it.  Equalled a couple of years ago by Macclesfield who could have broke it but managed to get two injury time goals to beat Carlisle.  Same season Watford equalled our FA Cup6-0 defeat I think.  That would have gone if John Stones could score an open goal from 3 yards with a minute to go.

Looks like we do hold some european record as well - at least for this century. Below is fir the top 5 leagues

"In the ranking of the longest winless runs in the five top leagues of the 21st century, S04 occupy 4th spot. Only Derby (32 games without a win), Ancona (28) and Perugia (26), all of whom had been relegated afterwards, are still ahead of Schalke. For Derby, it happened after the 2007/08, four years earlier the two Italian clubs had been hit."

Ok so we hold the european record...what about world? If yes...what about universe? We must be below Mars as their games are rubbish...no atmosphere. Mercury ....pitches baked (no grass). Venus rained off (acid rain), The rest, all gas (fog).

You were really stretching at the end mate, and accordingly it was a missed opportunity not to mention Uranus.

Wayne Rooney has still yet to win a league game as Derby County manager without Krystian Bielik or Lee Gregory (who is no longer here) starting the match.

Since November last year.

The current record without those two players is P12 W0 D2 L10

Krystian Bielik played the full 90 minutes.

He got injured in the win over Bristol City a week later, and our first game without him was the 3-0 defeat at Rotherham United.

After Bielik’s injury we have won just four of 22 Championship games (Wycombe (a) Boro (h), Huddersfield (h), Luton (h)). Lee Gregory started all of them.

After Gregory’s injury against Luton we’re winless in nine. He also missed the defeats against Coventry, Millwall and Stoke City. Hence our record without Gregory or Bielik starting is 2 draws and ten defeats from 12 games.

All the factors and stats suggest that until Bielik comes back we’re bang in trouble. Our only hope is we’re not too far adrift come January.

Or we find a proper goal-scorer like Gregory.

Yeah with Lee Gregory we were still struggling but from when he came in to the injury against Luton Town, we picked up 15 points from 13 games.

That sort of form would be bottom eight but enough to stay up.

Since that victory over Luton though we have managed just two points from nine games. And we’re weaker without the likes of Clarke, Wisdom, Edmundson, Roberts, Waghorn and Mengi.

All the factors point towards ab almighty struggle until January where we can hopefully pull off some key additions.

I wonder if last January we were under a different embargo soft, not hard? If we could sign those 5 again (too late for most of them)...

That’s a bit of a spurious stat though.

it’s like you’re trying to say we’ve never won a game with bielik. Apart from the 4 we won after he was injured.

by coincidence John Gregory started all of those games. I’m sure you could probably find that someone random like wisdom did as well.

I don’t remember Gregory being a world beater, and tearing up too many trees. I think we just happened to win some games without Bielik, and he happened to be on the pitch.

so that says to me that we are capable of winning the odd game without bielik. Not many, but maybe enough to keep us from falling adrift before Bielik is back fit.

It’s unarguable that bielik is a beast, an absolute cut above anyone else we have to offer. But we’re not 100% hopeless without him. Just need a little bit more belief that it’s not a done deal, that we’re destined to lose til he comes back.
