Opening games are generally unmemorable. I can't personally recall either of your examples but I'd be pretty sure I watched them.

This is not a bad game really.

The last opening game I think I remember was italia 90 when Cameroon surprised Argentina, much to everyones huge amusement... ?

Our man Wanchope bagging two and a couple of crackers from Lahm and Frings...

Switzerland v Czechia was a bit dull.

Italy have pressed very very well. Turkey look lethargic.

Bit of a tangent but why do the Beeb persist with the grinning idiot that is Robbie Savage? And do he and Bale have the same myopic hairdresser?

Meant to be discussing Wales but seemed more interested in having digs at England the sad thing.

Due to Southgates tactics I didn't give England much chance of winning the Euros. Watching how Italy are performing tonight, that chance looks to be getting smaller.

England would ask far more from Italy though. We've only seen how good Italy are going forward. Their left side has had total freedom and even though Spinazzola or Insigne could be MotM they were wasteful.

Turkey couldn't even make a decent set piece.

What do English pundits know about football, both Shearer and Ferdinand predicting score draws, yes we do need better pundits, and Ferdinand sitting in a BBC Studio wearing white trainers,at least Savage wasnt scared to say that at least Mancini was well dressed.
