I wasn't defending him exactly, absolutely tactical rigidity rarely works at this level and I don't think he's a good enough coach to pull it off. Ironically he's also built a team that'd be a good fit for route one football imo, grafters like Knight, destroyers like Bielik, quick wingers and the odd bit of set piece magic (when Rooney plays).
