Drinking holidays. Done one and when I got back I thought wow I need an actual holiday now. If you're a teenager who's experiencing the joys of freedom, great. It's not a holiday though in my book.

it's worse when you get invited on someone much youngers stag do. the first night you think, I'll show em how its done,  the second night you keep up as much as you can while thinking 'this music's loud, why can't we just go somewhere we can chat', the third night you are thinking a good book and a hot chocolate wouldn't go amiss.

I love them but you’re right in that they’re not relaxing at all. 6 days in a row on the piss takes it out of you.

Onion.  Ooh, but it's an essential ingredient in food preparation, uh no it isn't, it pollutes good food and everything then tastes of it.  The plant produces that awful taste in it's bulb so as not to be eaten by animals.  It didn't count on humans though.

Formula 1 racing.  Yawn.  About as interesting as a tennis match or golf.  Even cricket is more watchable without understanding the rules.

Six days. Youngsters today are a bit light on there feet. it was 14 in the days of old . Do they still offer gallons of free Peach Schnapps at the door of every Spanish bar if you dare to venture in. Still can't even abide the smell of it 25 years later.

stag weekends to Prague and the like.

I liked Prague for a stag do and Munich was good. Belfast was terrible- wound up in some bar full of ultra unionists that was like the Slaughtered  Lamb in American Werewolf in London.  You realise your getting a bit to jaded with this kind of endeavour, when you wish you could check out some of the interesting historical places your walking past as well as pubs.

Those days are sadly gone.

Dont know how long since you were in Belfast but I think its a great place. Plenty of bars with live music and great atmosphere, the Cathedral quarter is really good too with great bars and restaurants.

I think its a really nice friendly place to go, better than Dublin for me for bars as nowhere near as commercialised.

I am sure if you end up off the beaten path then pubs could come across that way, but i think you could say that about most destinations.

To be fair, it was 12 years ago and I have been back since and it wasn't so bad .  That was a more cultured adventure though taking in some history as well as pubs .  For anyone going there for the Titanic related stuff.  Go to the pump house where it was docked . Living history and I preferred it to the big fancy museum.
