Sadly this will be the first of many EFL clubs going into admin. When will them pillocks at the EFL wake up and start properly restructuring the finances. We cant go on like this. Too busy messing around in courts punishing clubs rather than supporting the leagues. Even if coronavirus wasnt around, we would still see many clubs potentially going bust.

Points deduction this season if they are outside the relegation zone or next season if they finish in it.

Hope EFL clubs rally round to stop this madness, unfortunately there will be many clubs such as Barnsley, Hull, Stoke and Boro who will be happy with this outcome.

Ridiculous when you think about it really, either apply the points deduction now or don’t. To apply caveats to where Wigan finish and how the points deduction will be applied is simply ludicrous.
also.....
The fact it has got to this when the EFL ratified the recent takeover including the fit and proper test, the inadequacy of this establishment is stinking out the whole of English Football right now.
EFL, needs to get its own house in order before sanctions on its members are dished out. ? ????

According to an exclusive in the Daily Mail (yes, I know), there is a proposal being put to the Championship clubs of an £18m salary cap from next season, plus various other conditions.

The real issues though are the parachute payments and the now extreme financial disparity between the top two divisions.

It came into play when Leeds went into administration (and a 10 point penalty) when they knew they were going down - wasn't it part way through their last day defeat against us? Rules then changed to prevent cheating the system

This is clearly different circumstances though.

Absolute silence from the EFL when they should be supporting all of their members.

Absolute joke of an organisation that needs a complete overhaul.

Of course it has benefitted us but I don't feel happy about it, at all.

If these new owners who took over and approved only last month, then the EFL have a lot to answer for in my opinion.

Shocking from them. This is sadly probably one of many other teams to follow.

Hope Wigan can recover from this. EFL should be learning lessons from Bury, Bolton and even us, this shouldn't have happened if the owners were deemed 'fit and proper'.
