Gary Rowett gone to Stoke

No investment available due to over spending by the previous managers. Having to trim the squad of the higher paid players. Will most likely lose his best players anyway. For the most part a fan base that has been at best venomous towards him. Berated for his boring style of play, despite having to utilise a team built over several managers.

Would you stay in a job where you were told the ageing tools you were working with are not being updated, you have to make potential wage cuts, some of your colleagues are going due to cut backs so you have to potentially work harder and there is no prospect of promotion?

 Who can blame him?

"We felt it would not be fair to stand in Will's way and told him about the offer".......Rowett could have said Will, Watford have bid for you but you are worth a lot more than that. Stick around and other teams will see your worth with a new season ahead of us. He made the decision for Will is how it came across to me. Please nobody use Fair Play......we spent more on Lawrence.

A sobering thought - Lawrence + £££ = Will Hughes.

Good luck to Gary, how can he turn it down, he will probably double his wages and have money to spend its a no brainer for him. Its the first time he will have actual money to spend and i for one will like to see if Lawrence was the norm or a 1 off. Noe back to a more attacking style of play.

Me

he assembled several of the aging tools instead of trying the latest technology.

hes a two faced disloyal ***** who failed ultimately.

sold Hughes, sold Ince, loaned out Bryson and Martin and we have the cheek to call Pearson, even his tenure wasn't as bad.

good riddance Gary you two faced disloyal arsewipe. Take you sneakers and big ears and do one. In reality of course, leave the friggin building.

Well according to one paper he's on £1.5 m a year with us and when Stoke last came in for him it was a three year contract . Grossly overpaid now methinks .

If Rowett goes to Stoke he has the capacity to become the most unpopular ex Derby manager since billy Davies.

I have to agree with you, for the style of football he brings he is massively overpaid. Could this be a blessing in disguise, get some money for him instead of sacking him and get a young coach on a lower wage who has a better brand of football.

It will be really awkward if he doesn't go now, although it's very unlikely.

That would be something. Instead of getting compensation out of it, we should fire him and pay him... And watch how he signs for Stoke week later.

It's a Derby way.
