Martin now Butterfield who next? Whoopety doo. He's not part of the defensive unit he's an attacking creative midfielder - that means he makes goals and scores goals - capiche? Not exactly lighting up the league there are we?
Chester40
Total rubbish. Maybe they were as fixated with how far the shin pad flew as Channel 5.

Warren Hobhead
16 minutes ago, Ninos said: Bad appeal. But this is a blessing in disguise. This guy has killed our attacks with his sideways runs, shirking of tackles (except this one) and his wasteful shooting. Bryson Hughes Elsnik and Johnson all proper centre mids. Guess we will add the boro kid too. Yawn.
May Contain Nuts
That tackle was probably the fastest I've seen Butterfield move in all of his Derby career! It wasn't a 'good' tackle regardless of whether he got something on the ball. The outcome of a challenge with that momentum behind it relies on luck far more than it does judgement. Stupid appeal IMO.
PodgeyRam
Don't know why they're appealling to be honest. It won't be overturned; it's far too easy to see why the ref gave the red card and in that situation the committee will back the ref.

Incredible appeal that one ... given the strange reds we've been seeing in the PL

No chance for Butterfield. We'll have to see how Bryson, Hughes and the new dutch lad do in midfield together for the next 3/4 games. Maybe a return to the style of old. Carnero
@David "...and extended to 3!" - pretty sure this is incorrect, the ban was already going to be 3 games as the tackle was classed as serious foul play.

G STAR RAM
So West Ham player dives into challenge, doesn't get ball and has his red card overturned. Butterfield dives into challenge, does get the ball and gets a 3 game ban. The FA need to have a serious look at their system when a challenge like Butterfields ends in a 3 game ban yet the leg breaking, potential career ending challenge on George Thorne goes unpunished. Nowt surprising there G Star mate... Were probably considering getting Joe Public to pay his wages for the rest of the season too!!
Colm
Straight red was always a 3 game ban though (for a bad tackle)? Or am I wrong? Don't see how the appeal has extended it lol

Think you're totally wrong on the Thorne challenge...... Think everyone on here would be berating any central defender watching on whilst a opposition player tucked into a pretty much open net from 6 yards out. Think it was just a horrible accident that happened there, don't think he was trying to injure the guy at all, last ditch defending at all costs springs to mind..... With regards Butterfield, you could get 100 opinions and after numerous times playing it over and seeing it you'll get a 50/50 split, I can see why he gave red at the time. Also can understand people calling for a yellow..... The officials made a judgement call and took their time over the decision, and felt it was right to send him.
