I've just pick one up on the way home from work, the strengths range from 5.4% to 6.3%. I'm familiar with the beers included  from Schneider and HB Munchen, however the other 8 breweries are all new to me. It's nice to see that they've included a couple of marzens and a weissebier alongside the usual helles biers.

Not tasted any of them yet as they need chilling first.

Absolutely no sign of these in Normanton, Chaddesden, Uttoxeter Road or Ripley Lidls 😠

Just took delivery of another 24 bottles of Hawkstone IPA.

Delicious.

Clarkson’s biggest achievement 😀

The only thing Clarkson has ever achieved is to make most of the population nauseous. Sorry wrong thread

I’m in Napa in California and we visited Fieldwork brewery. Tried their hoppy tasting flight and it’s everything I love about West coast beers. A great selection of strong, hazy juice bombs. They sadly don’t export to the UK, they’re only in California, otherwise I’d be stocking my fridge.

I’d heard of this beer - it’s apparently a bit of a legend. It’s won America’s best beer a number of times and it’s brewed in Santa Rosa, near where we’re staying. They had it in the restaurant we were in last night and it’s a banger. It’s an 8% double IPA, very tasty and carries its strength well but very bitter. Really nice, a little on the bitter side for my taste but it’s a great beer.

Shock news Derby Brewery operating company gone into administration.

The Greyhound and Tap will remain open but will be sold when a buyer is found.

HITW Mickleover and NOTSA Aston on Trent and the Brewery will remain open.

My first thought, as a (lapsed) brewer, is that it would 'de-skill' the science of brewing.

I mistrust anyone who says "It will make beers consistent..." etc. That's what the large multi-nationals tried in the 1960's and 70's. Their mantra was "Go anywhere in the country and drink a pint that tastes just like you were in your local". They sold 'chemical' beer - witness Whitbread Trophy, Double Diamond, Worthington E etc. They were virtually the same beer.

One good thing came out of large brewery standardisation - the rise of CAMRA.
