Gandalf's shin pads
According to The Daily Telegraph, Tottenham's Head of Player Identification, Rob Mackenzie, is leaving the club to join Derby and re-unite with Nigel Pearson who he worked with at Leicester in 2015. I can't post a link but if someone else would like to feel free!

North East Ram
Sounds like a good 'signing'. Hope he and Nigel can find a couple of gems for us.
cannable
This has made me happier than any signing possibly ever could. And that's before even taking into account the fact that the signing would end up being dreadful!
MACKWORTHRAM
Read earlier that Spurs were monitoring that Moses Simon last year. Maybe thats where that one came from?
Sith Happens
What a waste of money, I mean ffs why do they need someone to identify the players...they have their names on their shirts for a start.

cosmic
So what's the difference between this guy and Steve Walsh during their times at Leicester? We all hear how Walsh was pivotal in Leicesters success, recruitment-wise, but how much credit should Rob Mackenzie be given? (i.e. How exciting is this news?) Duracell
He was Head of Player Identification at Spurs, but surely he's not moved to have the same job at a smaller club in the division below? I'd imagine he'd be something like Head of Recruitment.
RadioactiveWaste
Spurs seem to have got some good players in, post Sven Leicester got good players in. Last couple of years Derby have largely failed to get "the right" players in. I'd welcome this news heartily, but the proof will be in the puddin. KBB
Whoever he is and whatever job title he has, I hope he has a nice folder full of players he was watching at Spurs and not being quite good enough for them, but might tear up the championship. Carl Sagan
Spuds' Head of recruitment has quit as well (Paul Mitchell) but it sounds as though he can't move anywhere (officially) until the end of the transfer window: https://www.theguardian.com/football/2016/aug/09/tottenham-head-of-recruitment-paul-mitchell-quits-nightmare
rammieib
Seriously - WTF is head of player identification? Head of scouting/Recruitment I get - and the Spurs head of Recruiting seems to have just quit, but head of player identification.... Football gets sillier. Van der MoodHoover
Why have we allegedly tabled bids for 4 players just prior to bringing in the new chief scout? Shouldn't we wait to see if he has a little black book?

Need to be pretty careful especially with characters such as levy who are tough cookies.
