Ewetube
Wow really shocked and saddened. He was for a short while in the 80's my favourite artist and Purple Rain my favourite album.
MuespachRam
Super young, wow, 57...incredible... Can't say I liked a single song that he did to be honest, couldn't see the appeal at all, but a good friend of mine went to see him live loads of times and said he was amazing. Aparantly he never gave the rest of the band a set list he just made them learn every song he did and then picked what he felt like on the night. Rev
Shocked! Can't believe how sad I feel, only saw him once when I was too cool to really enjoy it, but thanks to the wonder of I-Cloud putting the wife's Prince albums on my pod, I'd begun to understand just what a talented guy he was. TigerTedd
Check out some of his guitar solos on you tube. I only really got just how talented he was when I started looking around for a few awesome solos one night, Eric Clapton doing Layla, that sort of thing, then stumbled upon him soloing on while my guitar gently weeps at re George Harrison tribute concert. Unreal. Not quite the right era to have been a huge fan of his music, but the classics are always classic. But the mans skill on a guitar, good grief.
