I imagine that the players don't feel quite as sad about Warne's inadequacies as you do though, how does he make them look?
I imagine that the players are sad and discontented at the way they are being asked to play. It seems to be a no win situation for everyone at present.

If he was that nice a bloke he'd resign. I'm sorry he's not without blame and where was his admittance of that today? Well maybe he said something cos I couldn't bare to listen to it all. But starting with 'soft underbelly' s***. What about the crappy football you insist on playing mate?!
Perhaps he still will. And the rest of your post perhaps shows just how hard he's finding the job. I don't disagree with your post but I still find our current situation sad for PW, the players and the fans.

I laughed at this, but it is sad.
I don't want him ridiculed, bullied, harassed.. I want Clowes to admit he made a mistake and remove Paul from the position for his own sake.
He is a nice bloke and unfortunately has been found out tactically. It isn't his fault, just one of those things.
I didn't laugh. I thought it was sad and very out of order.
As you implied, it smacks of bullying, ridicule and a lack of sensitivity.
I agree that he is a nice bloke who has done his best, but perhaps wasn't the best man for the job after all and it wasn't his fault.
We can really do without this smart ar*e kind of posting that makes a joke out of someone's desperate misfortune. Some folk need to grow up.

I think he has given this club the very best shot he could.
If it's not enough, then fair play. He has done his best.
But he is not a 'clown'. He certainly is not.
I really hate seeing this term leveled at him.
Whatever your opinions of him, please think before you post unkind comments.

It’s fine to like him I’m sure he’s a good person but he’s Certainly not a good manager.
Quite possibly.

Interesting that Warne only went 3 or 4 yards towards the Derby fans at full time. He should at least try and communicate with them. Or were we singing him bad again?
Perhaps he was thanking them for coming without getting involved in verbal abuse from some of them? I'd say that was the right approach to avoid escalating any conflict.

The reason we have played awful and are losing 3-1 is not because of the referee.
Agreed, but the ref did not help.

I'm feeling very sad at the moment.
I'm not sure what is going wrong. I really wish things were different and we could be joyful and positive at this point in the season.
I don't know whose fault it is. I like Paul Warne but we don't seem to be improving.
I like PW and wanted him to succeed so much.
Hate to hear the booing and the chants, and now we are 10th.

I thought this would be a tight match but I thought we would just win, and of course it's still possible.
Very good commentary from Radio Derby so far.

Who cares? We're playing s***
I care. It's bad enough if we are playing poorly but it's worse if decisions are possibly going against us as well.

Radio Derby just said that the ref has been lenient on Stevenage and brutal on Derby.

OK. Let's put it another way, would you really expect any manager to throw the towel in this early? Wouldn't exactly look good on his CV.
Sorry, @Tamworthram, but my original post was in rely to @KnowledgeisPorridge who said that he thought PW might resign if things don't significantly improve as he was 'that kind of emotional guy'.
I replied that if he did resign I hoped it would be an amicable agreement between him and David Clowes as I think both are decent, honest and good people. If I gave the opinion that all this was imminent, I apologise. I was thinking of a worse case scenario.
I am still hoping that everything will come good this season. I certainly hope that things won't reach the throwing in the towel stage just yet.
Perhaps my post has been taken out of context or my meaning has been misunderstood.

Well I reckon PW is made of sterner stuff and probably believes he can turn it around. Also, whilst we're off the pace and nowhere near where we want to be we're not on a losing streak, we're not in the relegation zone (yet) and it's not slit your wrists time.
I would repeat, when have you ever known any manager quit under these circumstances for the reasons you list?
Sorry, Tamworthram, I don't have an extensive knowledge of facts and figures and I have no knowledge of any football manager who has quit under the circumstances I have listed. I'm not sure why I should have.
I like Paul Warne and I am desperate for him to succeed in making this team successful this season. We have a great team of individuals and whilst I am far from slitting my wrists I am concerned about recent performances and results as I think most of us are.
Lets hope PW and the team can turn things round and that we win tonight!!

Have you ever known a manager resign because it's the "decent, caring and honest" thing to do?
Most managers, I would suggest, will only resign (for footballing reasons) if their position is untenable, due to lack of support from the owner. You can't expect an employee of the club to have the same passion or level of caring for the club as us supporters.
How many of us would resign from our jobs and make ourselves unemployed because things weren't going so well?
I can't imagine being a manager in a job where I knew I was out of my depth and failing. What a miserable existence that would be ! I only have a faint idea of what the anxiety levels must be like for Paul. In answer to your question. Yes. If I was out of my depth and failing in a job I would be looking for a way out as I couldn't stand the anxiety. I don't know how PW feels at the moment but he is under a huge amount of pressure. All I know is that yes, I would bow out at a certain point having given the job everything I could but knowing the job was more difficult than I expected and acknowledging I could not take the team further. I'm not saying that's how things are at the moment, but if it comes to this in the future I think that Paul will do the decent thing and come to some kind or arrangement with David to leave the club amicably. I really hope it doesn't come to this, but I believe that both men are decent, caring and honest.
I'm still hoping that things will turn out ok and that PW will be a successful just because he is a good man, but at this point my hopes are not high.
Cool the anti-Clowes rhetoric

I don't think there are many fans out there who have more love for and knowledge about our club than David Clowes. It's not just an ailing business he's bought, his ownership is a passion arising out of a lifetime of loyal support and a duty to revive his beloved club which was near death. He made it clear that once the club was back on it's feet again and where he wanted it to be, he was happy to pass on the ownership to another trusted custodian to continue the work, or at least that's how I read it.
DC never set out to become the owner of the club. His was a call of duty under extreme pressure to ensure the clubs survival. He did it because he could and not because he had any ambition to own a football club.
He gave PW a 4 year contract, which we fans now see as perhaps not the wisest of decisions, but we all hope that maybe there were some publically undisclosed conditions attached to such a long contract. DC is bound to have some kind of timetable which takes into account the maximum financial support he is able to provide, the maximum length of time he can commit to this level of involvement and the targets he needs the club to reach. He will want to see evidence of progression through the seasons of PW's tenure. He will not want to see crowd numbers dropping, morale at a dangerous low, players frustrated, the vocal disapproval of fans, the team looking confused and low in confidence, inconsistency in performance and all those other negative traits we have all seen since late last season. He wants to see players flourishing, not going backwards and I'm sure he doesn't want to see our out of contract players leaving at the end of the season because they don't like playing here. (I know I'm making a lot of presumptuous assumptions here but these are things I think we would all agree are desirous for the improvement of our club.)
We all know he has 2 main options.
1) Replace PW soon, whatever it takes. Hopefully they can come to some kind of agreement to avoid too much financial burden on the club , thus cutting potential future losses.
2) Carry on with PW and hope it gets better
Or here is a third option...
David Clowes needs to intervene, get closely involved in each decision PW makes and demand that PW changes his tactics to ensure that this good squad produces good results and at the very least gets into the playoffs this season, which would be disappointing but still an improvement. I suspect DC has a better plan than PW currently does.
Even a fourth option.
DC locks PW in his office and confronts him with the above demands armed with a VERY sharp pencil which I would heartily applaud.
(Of course its possible he has already done this)
Heres hoping.
