spoke to some Brummies at work about this. He reckons when they got a 9 points deduction, Derby were one of the clubs that demanded a bigger punishment for them. They carry a grudge cos of this.

When you say “stuck by the club”, what exactly do you mean? Does it make him any different to say, Colin Kazim Richards? As far as I’m concerned he didn’t have any alternative. No clubs were trying to buy him as far as I know and he was under contract. I don’t think you should be suggesting he’s done anything special, as he hasnt.

I didn't stay but I did cancel a holiday and spend my final week training people.

I took 112 photos but didnt have a perfect white wall. So went to a Max Speilmann booth.

nope, didn't really settle anywhere after Luton. Looks like was never a first choice anywhere after 1983! Way before my time.

Just having a conversation with a friend looking to change jobs and it's astounding how often people are offered a pay rise or sweeteners when they put their notice in, but seemingly neglected and taken for granted when in the role.

Last year, I left a little firm in Nottingham (not for financial reasons), but in the last hour of my last day, the MD said he could offer me upto 65% pay rise to stay. Which meant they overvalued me and underpaid me consciously! They had already offered to pay me extra to not take the last week off. I ended up about £900 better off.

Anyone experienced anything weird when handing their notice in?

the concept of the film was really clever. Pretty sure it was written by TV presenter Danny Wallace and directed by the bloke out of Bread.

whilst watching coverage of Glastonbury, saw a bloke called Declan McKenna playing. So thought I'd give it a listen on Spotify. Selected the latest album, but the Spotify algorithm that links music of similar genre has thrown up hours of quality tunes that I've never heard and bands/artists I'm totally unaware of. Coin, Born and others. Really enjoying this.
