I don’t know where you’ve been reading that but I suspect there is zero chance of a points deduction. It happens all the time when a team wins something or gets promoted. It’s already happened at least twice this season (Pompey and Wrexham) and I’ve not see any mention of such a sanction.

Wherever you read it, stop reading there.

I also don’t think the club should embrace a pitch invasion. They’ll probably expect it’s going to happen IF we seal promotion but they shouldn’t be encouraging it. Accept that some will run on the pitch but hope/aim to get them to return to stands for the lap of appreciation to take place. I’m not sure how the elderly and unsteady person on the row in front of me would be partying on the pitch. 😀

Carlisle at home, we had won the league, in the Normanton lower, I was 15. 0-0, all on the pitch. It was going to be relaid so I took a piece from the centre circle.  Went to school on the Monday and persuaded my teacher help me preserve it.  50 years later and despite me living all over the world I've still got it.  Magical times.20240424_203328.thumb.jpg.8bdc5e45a3cc9c99e989c69776d0c5f7.jpg

I did the same but replanted mine in the garden at home, didn’t last the week 😂

Blackpool please - certainly one of the better awaydays and decent fans.

Definitely Blackpool, then play them away early or late in the season.

Two or three years ago I was getting a bit fed up of visiting the same grounds every season Bristol City, Preston etc, now we’re hoping and praying we will be back there next season.😂

It’s time to change my username. There is only one David round here and it ain’t me.

    David

Break that into 2, Day vid

    Keep it short, Day

Why not Dave? I hate it.

    Hope that explains that.

    Alright Dave.☺️

This is the one of the things that worry some fans. How often will we fail to 'pinch a win' and against what quality of opposition? We'll still have the ethos of a 'middling fish' or at least trying to be a 'middling fish' pinching wins in the Championship pond.

Are these the same fans that were worried that the manager wasn’t good enough to get us promoted and wanted him sacked.

    None of this means diddly.

It's in our hands, we're at home, we need a point against bottom of the league

A draw could mean we’re hanging  on right to the end, I don’t think I could survive that 😱

Thanks to everyone for the advice. We’ve decided to move to block I of East Upper and I’ve just pushed the button. From @England Ram’s very helpful post it sounds like a decent atmosphere. We’re in row D, so probably quite close to you.

Is this the right time to warn you about my horrendous flatulence problem? I say problem, I quite like it…

Not good news then, I’m two rows behind you.😳

The smell of plastic in this thread is quite intoxicating I’m told.

I don’t think it is though, hope everyone gets tickets! 👍🏻

I was reluctant to post and certainly not having a go at anyone on here whose circumstances have changed after the sold out signs were put up but there was around 6.000 tickets on general sale for over a week for anyone that wanted one.

I would agree. The SW upper has a decent atmosphere. Probably 3rd loudest after South Stand and the last dozen seats in the East Stand running up to the away fans.

But there is only single seats available in the SW corner.

We have our season tickets on the back row of the East Lower block I so are very close to the block above.
I wouldn't call either block rowdy but it is a good atmosphere compared to many areas of the ground. My dad is 76 and uses a walking stick so we can't go in to the south stand as he'd struggle to cope. My son is 19 so we strike the balance of being in an area with some atmosphere while still being able to have my dad enjoy himself. We've been there for 10 years this year so do enjoy the area. The view isn't too bad in the first half where you may have to crane your neck around the next person to see any action in the North East corner. Its an amazing view in the second half if we are shooting towards the South stand.

The challenge we've had in the lower block is people standing on occasion in front of us which means our row also have to stand or perch to be able to see, which causes friction with a few people on the front of the upper block I who then complain that they can't see.

Me and my lad don't mind the standing, and actually prefer it and would love some safe standing there, but my dad struggles on the odd game it happens etc.

These complaints from those people have actually gone as far as the Club, the council and EFL which has meant the club have had to try and do something about it. Even had some of the Clowe's team sitting in the area to see for themselves what happens etc.

Further up upper block I there is a section of fans who do stand, who haven't been complained about so it is most matches, so if the available tickets are in and around those you may find yourself standing.

If you can't get into the south stand and want some atmosphere and don't mind the potential of standing I'd recommend the upper and lower I blocks to get a season ticket. Although I don't think the lower block is open for season tickets as they have stopped new purchases over the last two years.

    Hope that helps.

Just to add, you say you are in Lower I and the persistent standing is above you in upper I but that’s actually upper J.

There is a pair of seats in upper I row D which is just in front of me, no persistent standing, good atmosphere, high enough not to get wet when it rains and a perfect view of the goal when we are attacking that end in the second half.

@Archied Forum regulars will know that for some of us there is more riding on Saturday than securing the points for promotion. It feels very much a tribute to those who aren’t here who have stuck with DCFC through thick and thin.

I’m really excited as I haven’t seen a DCFC promotion. When I last held a season ticket Derby were in the Premier League. I can’t imagine just how excited Daniel would be right now, but I bet he would be saying “I told you they would do it”

I’ll be thinking of you and your dad on Saturday ❤️🐏

I bet he told you they would do it every year though.😂
