Ravabeerbelly got a reaction from DCFC1388 in Has the transfer embargo been lifted?
As I understand it Hutchinson was already counted as one of the players of ‘professional standing’ due to his EFL experience at Southend. There is one other but can’t, from your list work out who it is?
    So….
If Cashin, Williams, Thompson or Solomon played a league game before the embargo is lifted or before we made any signings from the ‘trialists’ then they would also count towards the current squad.
As it stands we can make 4 (maybe 5) signings but if one of those mentioned plays before the embargo is lifted it would become 3 (maybe 4) allowed….if 2 play it becomes 2 (maybe 3)….if 3 play it becomes 1 (maybe 2)….etc etc

I get that it’s a message to the board, but he’s purposely left out Byrne, Shinnie, Bird and Lawrence to make it look far worse than it actually is.

Steve McClaren had a 3 month affair whilst he was married, Chris Martin banned from 68 pubs, I mean we haven’t always had squeaky clean men at the club.
Still not exactly sure what he has meant to have done wrong this time.
Out with mates, have a few drinks, invite some women to his table, are his mates single unknown to paparazzi men where Rooney used his status to get the women to the table? What a naughty boy.
All go to a hotel room, Rooney fully dressed falls asleep on the chair. Is that the crime here, falling asleep?
Pictures of his mates not posted on social media as they have no headline grabbing status.
I mean if he’s stripped naked, wearing makeup, with the women snorting coke off his arse cheeks has he takes a hit from a bong I could maybe understand it.
I haven’t seen headlines of Colleen leaves family home, spotted not wearing her wedding ring as we’ve seen previously, so if his wife has presumably forgiven him, why are we creating page after page on the internet laying into him.
I just don’t get it Kash, forgive me if I’m wrong but it all feels like an overblown situation by those that don’t want Rooney as manager. Probably best we agree to disagree on this.

All I got from that was :-
Salford was a sterner test with their pressing and front foot defending limiting time and space on the ball as opposed to Betis low intensity low energy approach of a team who looked like they were only interested if they had the ball. There was so much time and space in possession it was like a training game at times.
    Jagielka needs to be signed.
Sibley, Watson, Hutchinson have all looked to offer more as inside forward than Aluko has. I dont see what he brings to it.
    Forsyth was excellent.
    As was Shinnie.
Bird is better and will be worth more than Carroll. I don’t see the benefits of Carroll over Bird in essentially the same role.
    Roos was MoM
Not sure Baldock is the answer even as cover as CKR will clearly be the main striker.
Rooney has made a rod for his own back making Lawrence skipper as he has to play him….will he justify that?
Morrison has had less impact with each appearance….
I think we are yet to score a goal with any of Morrison, Lawrence or Aluko on the pitch.

Nice to win but still can't see any sort of cohesive plan for how we're going to score goals forming, can't see much evidence of coached routine and understanding between the attacking players.
The Sibley debate amuses me, like it's Watson (or someone else) 100% of the time or Sibley 100% of the time. Squad / tactical management within games doesn't exist, using players at the right times and in the right matches to make the most of their individual qualities an alien concept you can't expect the manager to understand.
Watson did well, but an assist in a pre-season friendly and a couple of examples of (just) keeping possession against a team not applying the same sort of pressure a championship team might seemingly justifies jettisoning a player who's been the standout star of our academy and when used properly showed that he could make a big impact on actual, real life, competitive Championship fixtures?
Shinnie & Roos the stars, game suited the former perfectly tbf, they won't face many like Graeme in la Liga will they?
...but that just makes me think of Sibley again. Everyone loves it when Shinnie flies into a challenge, or gives the opponent a 'gentle push' even though he's treading exactly the same line Sibley does, but one gets applauded and the other admonished for the same sort of thing.
With Shinnie though, instead of someone trying to drill it out of his game they've embraced it, let him gain experience in using his 'bite' correctly. With Sibley it's like people are trying to eradicate it from his game entirely rather than learning to use it more effectively. Surprised he dares make any challenges at all.

It was great fun against a team who were technically very good but played at half pace. Notts County I'd imagine will give us a stiffer test, as did Salford.
Roos pulled of two excellent saves, and there were some good performances outfield, notable Shinnie, who it's fair to say didn't enamour himself to the Spanish with his style of play, and Byrne. No surprise those two were our best two players last season.
Of those without a contract, Jagielka and Carroll performed well. Aluko, Morrison and Baldock I'm afraid did not impress.
Sibley, Williams and Watson looked bright when they came on, and CKR changed the impetus of the game when he came on by giving us a focal point up front.
Decent atmosphere in the second half as well - doubt the East Stand has had so much singing in it since it was built! Overall, great to be back, more positive than the doom and gloom on here and on social. For tonight, at least.

Several in fact. The alternative was maybe not to put on 11v11s which most will know even if they’re not match practices you need 11v11 for realism and to work tactically.
Im presuming he made up one of the ‘alternative’ 11 and was on a defending side? I’m guessing ?‍♂️

Football training grounds are strange places and football injuries occur every day of the week at every club. It’s not outrageous to think of a 35 year old only recently retired, former world class footballer now manager to join in training….let alone in our position regarding numbers. You go to a training camp with X amount of players to suit the work you want to do. It only takes a few niggles and numbers get stretched and the plan is redundant and it’s wasted. We know several players picked up injuries so Rooney joining in is no surprise at all. Once you join in you can’t undo 30 years of instinct and not compete!!
PS a 50/50 doesn’t automatically mean a two footed lunge…it can simply mean it was a nothing challenge where both players were competing equally

I just don't like the context of how it's acceptable for these young women to post pictures, "having a laugh" on the internet yet if the genders were reversed it'd be scorned upon.

On a serious note, I wonder what the reaction would have been like if that was two young men taking inappropriate pictures in front of a woman who was asleep. The social media reaction would be quite different. Them girls knew who he was and sold the story to the paper. They might have been a couple of girls his mates were flirting with at the club and he wanted to just have a drink, relax and go home the following morning.
The double standards is awful. We need to start treating this sort of behaviour equally.
