He literally got lied to by the club and kept getting fit again but not played. Didn't find out until Rowett told him towards the end they would owe a fee so didn't play him. I don't blame him for being aggrieved to be honest.

He's right and that's one of the most upsetting things.
I've said on another thread, the promise of the youngsters coming through has been the one bright spot in the last couple of difficult years.
To lose them for peanuts instead of seeing them fulfill their potential at Derby is heartbreaking.

    https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2021/09/19/mel-morris-says-sorry-derbys-fans-club-prepares-administration/
"...And Rooney has warned that any sale must be completed before the January transfer window or he risks losing his young players...
“We’ve got a few months now to try and get some investors in,” Rooney said. “If we get to January, the administrators can sell my players and there’s nothing I can do about it. That will be very difficult, a hard one to take.
Hopefully we can get new investors in as soon as possible and try and get some stability at this club.
This club is a big one and it will bounce back. We’ve seen teams go into administration before and bounce back. Look at Wigan now, they are at the top of League One."
“We have to be strong, we have to be resilient, and stick together.”

As you assert, Morris has awareness only for himself and not the club, the fans or Rooney. If Wayne were to resign the situation of the club worsens dramatically. It has to be a priority to ensure he knows how much fans appreciate what he has done and that we will back him in whatever way we can.

What struck me was how Mel said he didn't regret taking over the club because he'd 'rather have tried and failed' than not tried at all.  So that's alright then - he's managed to tick an item off on his bucket list even though it hasn't worked out the way he hoped it would.
It seemed an incredibly egocentric response to the question in the circumstances. All about the how it affected Mel Morris and no reference to the impact on the club's employees who would still have a job if Mel hadn't gambled with the future of the club by tripling the wage bill.  He just doesn't seem to have fully grasped the fact that he's put the very existence of the club itself at risk, trying to pretend that administration as being "in the best interests of the club etc.
Put that together with the fact that he didn't even bother to let Rooney and the players know what was about to happen and a pretty clear picture of his character starts to emerge.

I think he's making the youngsters believe they can play football. He spoke last season about how they need to learn to be brave on the ball, as in take responsibility, accept it in tight areas and don't be afraid of trying a trick or two.
Some nice passages of play in-between the graft of tough championship games starting to appear.

Last thing we want is for him to walk. If he wasn't here then Jags or Ravel wouldn't be here. Its probably him thats attracting players to play for us.
Its certainly him thats creating a bit of the work hard, leave it all out there mentality
Back end of last season was frustrating but so far this season he has done a good job under very difficult circumstances

This is probably the high from the game n the beers lol but foooook me this could be a hell of a season if we pull this off n stay up!! This is why none of us support city, liverpool or united because were Derby thro n thro! We take the highs and the lows because were proper supporters! The lows make the highs feel all the sweeter!! Glory supporters will never understand this!! We will get thro this one way or another!! Up the rams ????❤️

Indeed. The fans & the players today demonstrated that Derby County’s soul & spirit is very much alive. Thank goodness we had a home game today because the coming together en masse was cathartic & it helped to be playing Stoke City.
I also have to say, that as somebody who eschews anything Premier League, and who rolled my eyes when Wayne was first connected with Derby, I’ve become very fond of Wayne Rooney lately. His depth of character has been plain to see. He genuinely cares and brings his total being to what he does. I really hope he sticks with us and leads us through the tumultuous ride ahead and out through the other side. If he doesn’t, somebody else is going to get a very decent rising manager.

He did great yesterday. He has always been good with the ball at his feet, but far too often the pass back has been terrible and put him in a tight position where he has to just get rid, instead of try to start a move off. Faffing about at the back, no matter how trendy it seems to be, is costing us.
He dealt well with crosses yesterday, and caught the ball more times than he tried to punch it. Part of the improvement maybe feedback from his girlfriend, who apparently often sits in the South Stand, and gets tickets with the away fans when we go on our travels. It is a brilliant thing to do, and with the fans getting behind him, it can only help.

Having Curtis and Jags in front of him must be helping. Its got to be something they work on and discuss in training. He's building a rapport with the fans and knows he's the No1 and needs to step up so hopefully he will continue to grow in confidence.

I just don't at all believe he'd say he's seen it on sky if that wasn't the case. Why would he. Doesn't make any sense to do that. I also don't see him trying to make a play out of for whatever reason.
My guesses are - there was an email or message at 7.43 (which he didn't see until after he'd seen it on sky) or he got told to say 7 43 by ramsTV (for some reason). I'd go with the email he didn't read until after.
Still think it's pretty shitty to have not been told in person or at least over the phone.

always liked Wayne as a player. he is a true england legend.
seeing him play in a Derby shirt is something ill tell my grandchildren about, like my dad tells me about seeing dave mackay. roy mac, todd etc
wayne doesnt need to be here. hes earnt enough money to sit on his arse in his mansion for 100 lifetimes. hes here because he wants to be here
in times of crisis u need people to step upto the plate and that’s exactly wot hes doing. hes one of the few positives about this club at the moment, along with the fans
