Ram-Alf reacted to IlsonDerby in Birmingham City vs Derby County Matchday Thread
Well let’s clear the players paid handsomely to play football of any responsibility then.
I don’t buy ‘pressure’ for that first goal. He played the ball without looking. He wasn’t tackled. He just played a pass with no idea who was there.

Well we have a champion female tennis player in Emma Radacanu, Ronaldo score 2 goals for his new club, India didn't want to play the 5th test, I think financial politics got hold there with the IPL, Verstapen has got pole position in the Italian Grand Prix, It's the Great North Run this Morning, And according to Sky Sports Troy Deeny ran Derby ragged for 20mins after coming off the bench.
On the plus side here's some football

Without CKR long balls are not the answer. To beat the press the man in possession needs more options. So movement off the ball needs to be better in midfield. Even then there’ll be times when the press forces a ball back to Roos who will need to hoof because we’re overloaded in our third.

It may not be something which is changing the system but taking off a player who is on a yellow card is tactical - It frees up the player coming on to be a bit more aggressive and ensures that the player coming off doesn't pick up a second yellow
A tactical retreat if you like?

Lee Bowyer would have been a decent appointment.....

I'll bite - even though I normally ignore your more obvious arsey comments.
Square pegs? He's expecting both Jags & Curtis to be ball playing centre-halves - not something that they are naturals at....He's picking Roos for his ball-playing ability - something he may show in training, but something he's incapable of doing in pressure situations.....He's playing Bird & Shinnie next to each other which, as we've seen over many games, limits both of them....He's playing Morrison to give us quality going forward, but Morrison is then having to drop back to in front of the centre-halves to get the ball because Bird & Shinnie aren't doing the basics as CDMs...Last night he played Sibley on the right which dramatically limited his effectiveness....He played Tom Lawrence who at times looks more like a square peg than a professional footballer - always on his heels and more often looking for a fight rather than looking to hurt the opposition with his play....
As far as shots on target, maybe we did have as many as they did - who scored the most goals and got the 3 points?

Up until their goal I actually thought we played really well from the back. We managed to turn and play forward and beat their press however the goal we conceded just ruined our game plan. We still haven’t overturned going a goal down in 28 games

I watched Chelsea Vs Villa earlier on, Chelsea play the exact same, They were caught out once trying to hold onto the ball and Villa caught Saul in possesion, Any road, What Chelsea can do that we can't is, Once the back 4 have the ball they're looking to their midfield to exploit space in the middle of the park, Which they do very well, It can be a 10 yard pass or a 20 yard pass, It in most cases finds their man, We unfortunately keep playing the ball across the back 4 which leaves the opposition 2 things, Our back 4 get closed down, And midfield are picked up, Now in no way am I putting us in the same mould as Chelsea, Just as Brum are no Villa, Villa had as many if not more chances than Chelsea, But Chelsea have Lukaku, A target man with pace and strength, Villa had 2 leightweight forwards in Ings and Wakins...Goals wins you games, And it's goals that will be our down fall imo.
If WR wants to keep a passing game then he has to work out or instill movement, Control and pass around the opposition, And not taking too many passes backwards and side ways, We hear about togetherness in the camp, They had better bring this togetherness onto the pitch, With what we have it's going to be a tough ask.

Ram-Alf reacted to Tyler Durden in Birmingham City vs Derby County Matchday Thread
Birmingham didn't have a plan to start with though, we were controlling the ball and tempo of the game in the first 20 minutes as they were giving us far too much space and time to work the ball from the back.
When Bowyer got wise to that then we had no answer and as soon as they started putting us under pressure we gifted them the first goal as we weren't used to having to work the ball from the back with their players harrying us.
Our inability to get anything from the game was nothing to do with the ref or linos let's be honest Shinnie was quite rightly booked for wrestling their player and one of their players was booked for doing exactly the same kind of thing in the second half.
The distinct difference was our players lack of discipline compared to theirs which needs to be coached out very quickly, Lawrence and Morrison the notable offenders for seeking retribution after they thought that they had been both fouled.

West Ham's celebrity fans are all absolutely insufferable. Danny Dyer, Russell Brand, Ray Winstone, James Cordon, and loads of daft yanks who saw Green Street one time.
There's some relatively famous porn star/producer that is a big Derby fan, but I'm not searching his name until I leave work.

There was a patern of play in the 1st half that gave me great heart, The one touch football that cut Brum to pieces on the 18 yard line and left Lawrence with an opportunity which he passed to their keeper.
It shows it can be done if players move forward, Unfortunately having a six shooter on your hip then blowing your foot off is no help when gifting goals away, The vast majority who've posted on the game thread have said "it's our tactics that's costing us" I agree, Unfortunately I heard this Morning WR is set to carry on with this course of action.
Being an Ex pro footballer doesn't make you right, It's what you believe is right, Being a supporter and watching for ourselves what "we think" is wrong only fuels honest confusion with it all.
WBA/Stoke next week, If you thing Birmingham were physical wait for these 2, I see troubled waters ahead on the pitch, And there's not alot of steering available.
We're not going to make lighweights into heavy weights.

With a team like ours with no cutting edge you can’t gift teams goals. Also, if we want to play wing backs we need 3 centre halves…..
