FWIW I wouldn’t give too much credence to what he said. He would be a fool to say anything else than that he is receptive to staying even if he has already made up his mind to go.  I would be surprised if he is with us next season. Good luck to him.

he’s already given us a year in div1. We wont get another and we shouldn’t criticise him when we don't. It’s not so much about salary - though he’ll do better higher up surely. It’s more about his development as a player. He’s been awesome for us - until this year.
(btw I’d guess we agreed with him in Jan that we’d release him if we didn't go up. He went public with that line anyway …)
Good luck Jason. And we’re paying the price for failing to get promoted

there’s a number of oppofans who post before we play them away, invariably in good spirit and often with some useful information. The only problem arises when people overstep the line of banter (not that we’re incapable of squabbling amongst ourselves).  I think the “ **** fan in peace” posts make for lots of good reading on here

kevinhectoring reacted to Caerphilly Ram in Paul Warne Pre-Season Interview
That’s a bad take. Let’s look at what was actually said rather than another heavily opinionated assumption
    Wanted:
“We need the players that can play in the league above and have got a bit of experience
I want the players that will make big sacrifices and are fully determined for success.
We need players that are prepared to learn and believe in the team more than themselves.
They have to be good footballers, good athletes and they have to buy into the way we play, the way we press and the energy we want from a team.
Also and this is a lot different to a lot of teams in our league - they have to be able to play in front of 30,000 people.
It's a psychology more than a physicality for me. I'm not here to break players but I am here to push boundaries and to try and get more out of the team.
We're trying to make them physically resilient for a 10 month season but a lot of that comes from mentality.
From that, hopefully you can build a squad and a team that are exciting to watch.”
    Ignore how Warne says things and look at what he’s actually saying, he wants hard working and capable footballers who know what it means to play for this club and will put the team effort above themselves, what about that is such a bad thing?! From those quotes I’d say it’s more like;
Wanted - football players with the ability and mentality to play for a well supported club planning to push for promotion. Must understand this is a team sport and all members of the squad will play a part in shared success. The plan is that the team will play with a high press, which means physicality and athleticism will be part of our identity as will playing an exciting brand of football. Ability to put up with manager’s rubbish jokes and constant pestering are an added desirable requirement.

Yep agreed, I don’t see an issue with opposition fans popping on here now and then for some respectful chat (from all parties) and a spot of banter. There have been extreme examples of folk who made themselves unwelcome  and plenty of others who are clearly just footy fans wanting to chat with other fans like you might down the pub.

whatever the reason he had a poor season last season. He was one of our strongest in the championship in 21/22. Of course much more likely he’ll play in the championship next season - and I did say he wouldn't be a starter in the PL

Yeah I thought it was rubbish too. As if Bristol will be offering him that much either. He just obviously feels he can play in the Championship at his age, which is fair enough

By international supporter base do you mean people who don’t go to matches but just buy a shirt and say they’re Man U/Liverpool/Real Madrid/ Barcelona fans I’m pleased teams can compete against them, unfortunately you need boat loads of cash now unlike in the pre premier league days

The charges don’t actually relate to the current team though. Aren’t most through the period of 2010-2016?
City’s starting XI featured the likes of De Bruyne and Ake who Chelsea were happy to rid of.
Akanji was a bargain buy. Gundogan too. Grealish aside, I don’t think any City player out there cost more than £60m.

I reckon the contract length will be the bigger consideration for him. Might be the last one he signs as a player so he might want to maximise the length.
I wouldn't have thought we'd be offering more than a year, nor do I think we should.

He's not a bad player in the round, and should have some sympathy.  But his fee amount had a major impact on nearly bankrupting the club.  Not all his fault - you can't blame him for a) Mel Morris being prepared to sign him at inflated rates b) him getting injured.
But for sheer damage of one signing in isolation, he is hard to parallel.

Shame. Think he's already a very good player who will get better. Presumably he knows this, which is why he wants to play at a higher level.
This is one reason I don't like it when people say 'i don't mind missing out on promotion, we weren't ready, gives us no time time to plan' etc etc. If you miss out on promotion it makes it much harder to keep and attract good young players.
