I'm guessing that opinion would have come from a specialist in knee injuries. I'm sure talk at the time was at least 18 months out due to the severity. With that duration matching the length of his contract, the professional opinion was that he wouldn't be able to fulfil his contract due to his own negligence.
If it was 18 months out due to an injury in training, in a match or just a freak accident, he wouldn't have been sacked.

His clever lawyers would have had a field day over the inconsistency.
They might also have said: when you sacked him you thought he might never play again. So it’s disability discrimination

Maybe the EFL have been so slammed dealing with COVID issues that all the business as usual (such as our appeal) is taking longer than normal

I think we're at cross purposes. I know that Pope, one of the several EFL experts, was ridiculed and that Delve gave evidence for us but not as an expert. None of the bits you've quoted above counter the points in my posts unless I've misunderstood. Here below are the extracts from the judgement that support the points I was making (I looked at it again because I thought I was losing my marbles). Sorry if I've not been clear, KH'ing
a EFL charge re accounts presentation
...the EFL contends: a) …. That ….. the ‘Annual Accounts’ submitted by the Club for those years were not (as is required by the P&S Rules) ‘prepared … in accordance with all legal and regulatory requirements applicable to accounts prepared pursuant to section 394 of [the Companies Act 2006]’, and c) That the consequent submission by the Club of non-compliant Annual Accounts for those years placed the Club in breach of the P&S Rules.
b Panel’s comment on auditor’s evidence on disclosure point
Mr Delve accepted that, had he picked up the (accepted) ambiguity in the Notes, he would have required the Club to change the Notes to explicitly refer to the changes and the new approach. He thus accepted that the Notes in the financial statements for the years to which the Second Charge relates were inadequate
Panel’s finding on disclosure point
… we find that the Club failed to comply with section 10 of FRS 102 … To that extent therefore the fifth Particular of Second Charge is made out.

I just can’t see any benefit to them in messing 3 clubs around like this. If the t/o does not happen, they seal a reputation that damages them in this and other sectors.

Can’t see any incoming transfers in January sadly. The takeover will undoubtedly fall through, which will leave us back at square one. Mel will still be the owner of the club, but appears unwilling to fund it anymore. That will mean we will have to take out further loans to see us through until someone genuine investors turn up, rather than the last couple of time wasters. Clearly all that money will have to go toward the day to day running costs of the club, including player wages, which will leave nothing left to spend in the transfer market. Can see us having to sell most of our talented youngsters as well, like Sibley, Bird and Knight, in order to supplement the loans so we don’t end up too much in debt.
It’s a sorry state we find ourselves in. We’re not the first though, and we certainly won’t be the last. Especially not with the situation at the moment.

fascinating post thank you I must admit I thought they would do better this season Man U was a shocker for them
Bielsa - like Klopp - has the ability to motivate players to cover the yards and execute that gegen press. Many managers (including PC) just can't energise their squad in this way, whatever the plan. It's a big part of the job.
Bielsa has not under-performed. His squad is not a strong PL squad - this reflects that the owner (if I have it right) has about what MM has and it's not enough these days to get to the top. Their dominance in the Championship before promotion reflected Bielsa's class. All teams have slumps and eventually he won promotion after strong showings in consecutive seasons. And hasn't he been offered bigger jobs than Leeds? I thought so but may be wrong there. The spirit of CLough was with us on the return leg - I didn't think at the time that Bielsa was to blame I thought it had more to do with their goalkeeper (but maybe I need to watch it again).
Love the crouching thing. Sure he has a bucket and now a little chair to help him but half the time he just squats like a Chinese lady at a railway station. Not sure even Pep could do that.
And his reluctance to speak English on English TV, bless him...
I like him and rate him even if he hides in hedges sometimes

It's interesting as Klopp clearly is a very funny energetic guy- Bielsa comes across more like a weird guru borderline cult leader who'll get his players motivated in that way. So, he'll force players out who won't sign up to the programme and create a cohesive squad mentality- similar to Mourinho in that regard I guess. Again, this itself has problems as Mourinho and lesser managers such as Billy Davies who create a similar atmosphere have learned.
I don't think he's underperformed but he's not working miracles with the squad he has got either this year so far. Leeds have spent quite significant sums on a few players in key areas to beef up that team i think. All teams do have slumps yeah, but he has a habit such as in his time at Bilbao and Marseille of burning his teams out by the back end of the season. This tends to suggest it's not a natural cycle of form that teams go through but a natural result of the high intensity, high pressure game he plays.
He's never taken on a world class club job like man utd etc. no- he's managed Bilbao, Marseille, lazio, lille and leeds. He was only in charge of lazio for 2 days before quitting. He's never won a major title and his time in charge of Argentina and Chile was mixed not producing spectacular results or achievements there either. From what I can work out he joined Leeds because he'd walked away from Lazio and his time at Lille ended up in acrimonious circumstances as did his time in Marseille.
In the second half of that game we shifted formation I believe to a diamond which Bielsa either didn't register or couldn't respond to- whilst their hysterical goalkeeper gave us an in the second half we completely dominated and could have scored more than we did. Most coaches would have changed it up... this is similar to Bielsa's issues in the premier league his inability to be flexible can end up harming the team.
I'm not saying he's a bad coach or that i don't like him. I think he's a coach who plays a high pressing game driven by data but that actually tactically he's not as sophisticated as some claim he is. His data is very sophisticated but his way of playing (wingbacks, high press, runners from midfield) can be countered especially by teams who are good on the ball and willing to match their work rate. Bielsa from what I have seen has not had an answer when teams can do that to him.

Really won't take that many results to get out of this. Win tomorrow and we're out of the relegation zone most likely. I don't see us dropping through the trapdoor, I think we'll have enough to be safe.

Admins/mods, apologies if this is inappropriate or in the wrong place!
As part of a personal mission to make a difference both to myself and others next year, and hopefully to also provide a boost to our local healthcare services, I am committing myself to running 10k each time Derby County fail to win a game (i.e. draw or lose) during 2021. If current form is anything to go by, I'll be stick thin by March!
I have started a GoFundMe page to hopefully do a bit of good while also having a bit of fun following our beloved Rams next year. I struggled to settle on a particular charity to support but have gone with the Derby and Burton Hospital Charity in light of the fantastic work they have done in tough circumstances in 2020. If you would wish to donate and provide me some much-needed motivation I'd appreciate literally anything!

My other thought was for the Derby City Mission who I know we had done some fundraising for on this forum earlier in the year, please also consider helping their cause if you would prefer;

Long and the short of it is...
We're going to make it a good year in 2021. Quote me, screenshot me, @ me.
