Agree with you. But Buchanan looks better on the ball, so a manager who wants to see football from end to end might favour him. Don’t think it’s worked. We also saw a little of Watson’s quality today despite him being out of position  - great shame he’s not featured more. Really hope he stays

It's yet more re-hashed regurgitated nonsense from the DET. This bit is patently untrue :
He doesn't need to have "completed a deal" by then. What he does have to do is to have sufficient agreement in place with the major creditors and the EFL to give him confidence to provide further funding until the take-over is fully completed thereafter and to give Quantuma confidence that he's fully committed. The immediate liabilities of the club on 7th May aren't materially different to the liabilities on 6th May, but the liabilities on 31st May will be.

Well most of them are well equipped to get another job after ‘retirement’ and employers are often keen to take them on

What does it mean, the whole squad wants to stay ? No ifs, buts or maybes? I don’t suppose many of them are inclined to tell Rooney they are intent on leaving,  but as others have said the money will be a big factor in the end

It's not all about money either. You couldn't blame anyone wanting to play at a higher level.
    Football careers are short.
I wouldn't be annoyed at anyone leaving. I think we should all be grateful for their fantastic efforts this season. None of them owe us anything.

There’s so much in a statement like that. Having seen the ticker tape head line it fills you with pride.
All those thoughts of loyalty, a shared experience that has undoubtedly been there come to the fore.
A desire for that huge adrenaline high you get from working with guys who you know work for you, all with a common goal. It’s called a team and it’s magical. We all experience it (if we are lucky) at some point in our lives. There isn’t much that can touch it. I feel great just reading about it. It cements the truth of what we have seen in the ground as the season unfolded.
Reality does kick in though. People have hopes dreams aspirations .. So maybe 4 grand a week sounds good to most of us but if you get offered twice that and a chance at the big time where world names play ? It all depends what you are .. At 60 something I can see more joy, sense and satisfaction by sticking with it .. As a young man full of power and dreams, the nobility and joy of sticking around wouldn’t be anything like as strong.
.. If you go,  I say good luck, and thanks for the memories.
If you stay … you’ve just earned your first chip in the legend stakes .. You might have been a stat in the employees book but by not walking away,  generations might just remember and revere you long after you are gone. I won’t forget this season or this team. Special moment in my sporting life.

the bulk of it will be the PAYE taken from players wages, at near enough 40%, given how high the wages are.

The Beilik expense must be big problem in the possible takeover. If CK takes over in May he will have to start paying Krystian’s £25,000 a week wages . He must have a plan to pay off the £8 mill to Arsenal. No club is going to pay £1 mill for an injury prone player. A 3rd ACL would be quite possible in the 3rd tier. He can talk to other teams in Jan anyway. What is the best way to cut our losses?

CK knows what the numbers are and is aiming for 0 deduction based on a 3 year pay out of 35%.
Slightly disappointed it won’t be 25% up front because it suggests club cashflows might be used in the next two seasons to fund legacy creditors.

But what he says is still good news

Who is blaming him for our away form?

There are two key factors that caused us to be relegated. The points deduction and our away form. We would have survived without the -21 and might well have if our away form had been better but, we couldn’t overcome both.
Mel wasn’t responsible for our appalling away form (although, maybe you could argue that the sanctions applied as a result of his failings contributed) but the dire financial position we found ourselves in was due to him (with a little help from Covid).
I won’t deny that I was once a Mel supporter and of course didn’t complain when he was throwing money at chasing the dream. But, why would I have? I never had sight of the true financial position and we were assured all was well in terms of FFP.

You can't say for certainty that it would have made no difference, but I didn't say it would have anyway. It was in response to claims that there have been no options.
It isn't one or the other 90 minutes every game anyway, but that always seems to how it's presented.
We've played an 'uncommitted' RB/RW at left back in place of Buchanan (who's been substandard to say the least  away from home for months) instead of Forsyth. No matter how good Cashin has been he is still inexperienced and there will have been situations where Stearman's experience could have been beneficial.

So many choices. My point is, start with experience at the back if you have it (we do) and build from that. Especially if you won’t score many goals

I think it was always going to be a tough one to win, given home advantage, points difference. The odds were against us winning today. I think the result reflected our respective positions and we did well to almost hold on until the end. Sad, but still very proud of the fight we  have put up. They gave their all. Away games have been poor this season, perhaps because of an inexperienced and apprehensive squad of youngsters playing in front of a noisy home crowd in unfamiliar surroundings?

You can still avoid 10 away defeats on the spin with our current squad. The disparity in home and away form suggests it’s not just the quality of players affecting us away from home.

But without sounding like a stuck record, could we not have tried changes in formation, maybe 3 at the back with wing backs and 2 up top? It does sound very familiar today, like lots of the away defeats, we looked ok, the better side at times, but created very little. Hopefully Wayne will address this for next season ?

Obvious to say now but I've never been a fan of lobbing on a striker without regard for the formation. We were on top before the sub, perhaps a learning point for Wayne.
