Nathan Jones should definitely get it, but Cooper deserves a lot of plaudits too. He's done a great job at Forest and they're playing some great football at the moment. It will take a good team to stop them from going up in the play-offs. Jones has taken a team with a lowly budget and put them inside the top 6, though, whereas Forest have a healthy squad size and plenty of options.
Rooney has done an incredible job in keeping players engaged throughout the season, but not sure he deserves to be in the conversation for manager of the year. If we had stayed up, potentially, but definitely not now.

Think ultimately even if next season doesn’t see us go up we’ll be back up within 3.

Can we appreciate that Rotherham regularly come straight back up and they’re dreadful.

Get any of this wonderful bunch we currently have who wish to stay tied down to new deals (on League 1 appropriate wages).
When their contracts expire, get in Flint, Bardsley, Barkhuizen, Wilks, Dhanda and Telford and have a nip down to Luton to see who they aren't keeping because half of their team is out of contract this summer and they obviously won't be on high wages.
And finally finish off by asking Kirchner for just a few pennies to bring in Matt Jay and Shadrach Ogie.
Top it off by utilising Rooney's contacts to get in a few decent loans and we're sorted.

See, you don't need a fancy new recruitment team Mr Kirchner ... I've done it for you for free. You're very welcome.

All the very best for the coming season and beyond.I hope Rooney sticks by you with a decent owner on board he has a good a chance as anybody to get you back up.Your fans have been superb through this crap period.Things can change very quick in football and sometimes for the better, look at us in the so called best league in the world the Premier league for another season.Although my opinion of  the PL ( I’ve missed 2 games this season )is it’s the fatal attraction of clubs who risk everything to get to the tv cash when for us fans it’s a bland predictable bore fest unless you are a top 4 club the rest just make up the numbers.I won’t shed a tear when we eventually get back to the championship a far better and more competitive league to play in.Hope to be playing you at Pride Park again soon.

Really excited to see who we bring in. We might not be splashing the cash but we’ll be a pull.

Both Wednesday and Ipswich seemed to really recruit in big numbers last summer and it’s worked for one of them.

If Rooney stays I imagine a couple of smart loan signings could be in the pipeline too.

Ever since 2008 we've basically alternated between seasons when we were near the top/playoffs (Mac/Lampard) and seasons when we've been near the bottom and in a relegation scrap (Clough/Rooney).
During the latter type of season we fretted and lost sleep imagining that to be cast into the netherworld of League 1 would be the very worst thing that could ever happen.
Well now it has.  And we're still breathing.
We could have settled for being an average Championship side with occasional forays into the top league.  Instead we fell for someone who dreamed big, spent big, pushed the envelope, and ultimately crashed and burned.
It's now clear that although the EFL mishandled many things we are now where the actions of our previous owner mean we deserve to be.
In Scotland, Rangers had to fight their way back from their League 2 for similar transgressions.  It could be far worse.
SO, let's focus on what we have that most teams in League 1 don't.
30,000 or so loyal fans, PL quality stadium & infrastructure, a history including winning the top league twice, an Academy producing PL standard players (e.g. Hughes/Hendrick/Plange/Ebosele etc), a high profile manager who has the loyalty of everyone, new ownership, and presumably a wage/transfer budget that will be competitive in League 1.  Most League 1 teams would love to be us.
Factor in also the 'bounce back' factor (Bournemouth for example) and what we hopefully have ahead of us is a revival similar to the Cox/Smith years.  Bring it on!

I’ll be relieved to just be back on a level playing field to be honest. Able to finally move on from the off field mess and focus on building the team Rooney wants - hopefully capable of giving us good football to watch, and win football matches. The level we’re playing at is almost an irrelevance, all we really want as fans is to watch our team play well.
If we can keep the same team as this season then we’ll walk the League, they’ve already shown they’re too good to go down with the points they’ve accumulated on the pitch. That wont happen though, it’s gonna be a big rebuild. Just hope Kirchner has the funds and gets the recruitment set up right. That’s the most important thing. It’s a clean slate really and we need to build a good, balanced, hungry squad.

Promotion next season? Let’s not be arrogant.
I think we have to give League One the respect it deserves and adjust our expectations accordingly.
How many clubs have gone down expecting a quick return and felt the full force of reality?
Sunderland, that’s one. Forest, that’s two. Leeds, that’s three. There are several more, which should serve as a warning that we’ll have to remain grounded.
Clubs have gone down with more stability and clarity than ours and struggled, so why do we think we’ll be a special case?
Yes, we have players who are capable of playing above League 1 level. But will they stay? Will they be motivated? Will they perform under greater pressure and scrutiny? I don’t think it’s so straightforward.
Truth is we’ll have an inexperienced owner, an inexperienced manager and coaching staff, a largely inexperienced group of players, and given that it is 36 years since we were last in the third tier, an inexperienced fanbase too.
We’ll be one of the big fish, but what comes with that is we’ll also be the one everyone wants to fry.
As fantastic as it would be to get promoted at the first attempt, I don’t think that’s realistic and the desperation to achieve that could lead to us overextending ourselves yet again.
Personally I would be looking at putting some proper groundwork down and taking the first year in League 1 as a year to reset. We need to put down the right foundations and get the right people in place, so we can move forward as a club in a positive and sustainable manner.
