Out of my Rams social group, roughly 12 of us, 4 haven't/won't renew including me and the other half and we're not attending Saturday. If repeated across the fanbase I cant see more than around 25,000 attending.

Slight digression, but if the squad isn’t brilliant does that make Billy Davies great for getting us promoted?

Steve Bloomer!! We've got one. This thread smacks of trying too hard. Club anthems develop organically.

Because we sit with people we have sat with for a long time and family. It’s just wrong that fans have go seat hopping to avoid the foul rantings of some fans (and not the exuberance of youth either)

I was thinking of going to the Forest game but now I've heard about all this racket going on in the ground I'm not bothering. I prefer the traditional Pride Park atmosphere of listening to the players conversations, seats clattering on the 30th minute as people head to the concourse and the non stop pinging of phone notifications.

I was shopping in Belper last week and my ears pricked up at a conversation between two elderly gents in the aisle at the supermarket. They were lamenting the fact that getting tickets (or season tickets?) was beyond them at present because they couldn't print their tickets. One said that he thought he might have to cancel his direct debit.  A club that is in such dire financial straits should surely be encouraging as many supporters into the ground and removing obstacles. The confusion over season tickets and a closed ticket office just before the start of the season is financial madness or am I missing a huge point somewhere? Surely the income generated by opening up the ticket office and telephone outweighs the cost of staffing it? I really feel for those of our older fans who can't access the system.

I am glad my non-attendance at the first four league games has not gone unnoticed. I won’t be going to the Notts game either.
Until Derby more regularly play their games in the southern part of the Country I really can’t be too arsed.

No I wasn't there today - I was at the Salford and Notts County friendlies and the Huddersfield game.
To preempt the next question I'm struggling to function on a day to day level, you may get a flavour of this if you read some of my posts in the Anxiety and Depression thread on the Jim Smith forum but anyhows didn't feel upto going today for that reason.

It’s farcical if you haven’t got a printer, internet access or a smart phone. As I have put on another thread, the impact our shambolic ticketing policy is having on a certain demographic of our support is far greater than people on here seem to realise. If we had sold our season tickets before the season, like every other club, and issued season ticket cards then I think we would have another couple of thousand at least on the gate.

Other factors, such as the club not communicating properly with fans and the absolute shambles that it has become has certainly disenfranchised a lot of people.

I am quite enjoying the back to the wall siege mentality personally and am enjoying the greater bond between players and fans and the recognition of where we are as a club and the greater effort on display. I am sure that more will return once we have new owners but fear that COVID combined with mismanagement will have cost us more who will never return.

Live near Coventry and there's a lot of great stuff going on over there at the moment. It's actually impressive and Derby could do worse than to go for it. As for Coventry, yup it's a cheap and easy shot but The Specials, Two Tone, Delia Derbyshire, culturally diverse city. Look, I get it, sixties planning eyesore but there's enough there to make a pretty decent event out of and - to date - they're doing a pretty good job, even in all of what has been thrown at them.

Think you are missing the point here. Some of us who left our money in the club especially to help it during the time it was struggling the most have ended up paying more than those who simply got a refund. £100 more (after taking tickets for the first 3 games into account) might not be much to some of you, apparently, but it certainly is to me!
Another poster (sorry - don’t know how to multi-quote) has said that if I was happy to pay it then, then why not now. In answer to that I have also had the Rams Squad ‘free’ ticket removed and so have to find another £90 odd quid on top. What I find annoying is that I still haven’t actually officially been told that this is what the club was doing/ has done, it has been reading other posters on here, who got told by someone who works in the club, who have given me this information. Would an email have been too hard to send explaining this? I even queried it a few weeks ago and was told that the ticket would be valid, which is obviously not the case.
I apologise to those of you who think that I should be happily donating all of this money to the club but I just think that leaving things as they were when 8000 tickets had already been sold would have been fairer to all and would have allowed the club honour all tickets sold.
Fairness and honest communication shouldn’t be too much to ask.

Me too on occasion. Far too many pissed up/coked up Stone Island wearing fuckwits who insist on sitting in a seat that isn’t theirs and stand up all game while spending most of the time gobbling off to the home fans rather than watching the match. They are absolute ducking morons who have ruined the away day experience for me at times.

I can understand when it’s a moment of high drama or a goal celebration.. but ALL the time in a seated area I’ve never liked.

I come from an era of SEATS or STANDING. no inbetweens. As has been said above it’s also unfair to block the view of any juniors/elderly/infirm/short arses. ?

Good luck with the attempt at getting a refund - when it became apparent that they'd made such a pig's backside of sorting out tickets for the first game I emailed them asking how I should go about requesting a refund of my ST money (that they've clung onto for the past 18 months) - I'm still waiting for a response....
Back in the dark days of the early to mid 80s (High Court, etc) I used to follow the team around the country; I've had a season ticket for the past 36 years; sat in the same seat at PP since the day it opened - and yet it seems that there's no-one in the club that gives a stuff about the people that make the club what it is.....combine that with the other crap that now surrounds professinal football in general and I'm right on the edge of walking away for good. It certainly seems that Derby County don't care about me - not sure why I should continue to care about them.....

I will always follow the club but I've been losing interest in the match day 'experience' for a while now. I enjoyed the Lampard season and that inspired me to keep going and renew my season ticket. The covid break from the routine combined with a lack of finance has meant that I won't be going to the games again any time soon. I've been a season ticket holder for yonks. Not living local to Derby is also a factor.
The cack football doesn't put me off - I started going to the games in the late 70s and early 80s!! Went to loads of away games in the old third division and I remember the day we were 15 minutes from going bust. The 11 point season didn't put me off either. I think it's modern football generally that I don't feel part of and that makes me sad.
