I agree. If my assumptions about our resources are likely to be accurate - and we’re sensible with the money we have- then I reckon mid-table would be a very good achievement. Higher than that - an excellent achievement.  We may well struggle a bit, especially at first.
If we do struggle, then I hope people manage their own expectations a bit and we don’t start getting at the manager, players and owner.  Sure there will be some who want instant gratification and pushing for playoffs straight away, but hopefully most will be sensible and be patient (especially when the parachute payment boys come to town!).

Anything better than 50 points, take a few scalps, and continue to build back up. Develop young players. Thats my target.
Yes, we will lose more matches, and probably draw more too. But development does not happen overnight.

I'd be happy with something a bit like "never seriously looked in danger of going down" along with some positive signs of building the squad.
I don't expect Warne's style to change very much, but, being a better team doing it at a higher level should raise the standard a bit.

All depends on the recruitment, of course, but 12th-17th will be the realistic target for me.

    Sensible club, build properly.

It was amazing!!! Anyone calling the pitch invasion 'tinpot' can in my view get in the bin. I've never known an atmosphere like it at Pride Park as all 4 stands really got involved and revelled in the moment. Our flag game was very strong and it was quite a spectacle. I just hope we continue to keep up this level of support next season. COYR

Wow!!! What a day!! What a weekend!! I turned 40 on Thursday and this has been the ultimate present. On the pitch with my wife (who hates football but wore the Derby shirt I presented to her in my wedding speech 9 years ago) and my kids and my folks creating memories. I’m hoping it will be a day my daughters never forget!!
Yes the performance was s****!!! But the result was important and was never in doubt!! Warne has made this team ruthless in both boxes and that’s why we’ve got up. What I love is the culture and togetherness he and David Clowes have built. I’ve never wanted a manager to succeed more than Warne. He’s genuine he cares he’s a good bloke and he puts in the hours and gives his all for the club. John Gregory for example, as an ex legendary player and prominent manager at the time I thought he was going to be our saviour, he wasn’t and his b******* interviews just left you feeling fobbed off.
The togetherness from Admin is back. This group of players and staff is amazing and I’ll have fond memories of them and of yesterday until the day I die!! Some of them will move on but I back this group to recruit more amazing characters with more quality for the next chapter!!
We’re back!!!! B4 will be looking down and a proud man right now!!!

This was my thoughts and the phrase "footballers cant play in those leagues they get booted" has proven to be a myth. Watched City vs the scum yesterday and Grealish got booted all over the park so that happens in any league team/players depending.

Glad to see the back of it and hope to never return.
I can understand those regular away fans that were able to buy tickets and experience new grounds, was an adventure for you all.
Not wanting to sound arrogant, a club of this size should not have been playing at these grounds outside of cup competitions and pre season. There is a reason why Derby last season was a big day out for most of the league.
I'm glad we won't have to play Burton and Mansfield next season, I'm glad we won't have to feature on Welcome to Wrexham and we're back to one promotion away from being back in the top flight.
The Premier League has it's faults, VAR is terrible, we're never going to win the thing and it's all about the big 6, yet Brighton, Brentford, these are clubs we should replicating in some form and on the cusp of breaking into the European spots.
If League 1 was an adventure, imagine taking a couple of days off work midweek to fly out to Prague on the lash and watching Derby.
I bet Leicester City fans never thought for a second they would achieve what they did.
I'm fully aware we are still miles away from that, our immediate focus has to be Championship survival, then stability before we can think about progressing to the next step of chasing promotion.
But we're closer now than we would have been had we lost on Saturday and Bolton won.

Nothing wrong with the football, plenty of teams played the game the right way. Moments of real skill many times throughout the season from most teams that we played. The consistency isn’t there though is it. ? The bad touches, poor control and clumsy defending, just too much of it. The worst bit for me was officialdom. Wrong calls, strutting myopic refs who either get flustered or are so self important it makes you wince.

The missing element for me was the “spice” of bigger games .. Leeds, Wendies,Birmingham.
. It gets wearing when you know you are the big scalp that smaller clubs really want so they end up playing out of their skins and making you feel terrible if the result goes the wrong way.

I have enjoyed it but a bit like a chip butty, nice at the time, tasty and filling but it isn’t really a balanced diet.

I think the fans have been good, both ours and the opposition’s.
The season for me was a bit like having a baby.
Painful and unglamorous at times but bringing great joy when we delivered.

My thoughts are that it feels like proper football. I’m becoming increasingly alienated by modern, elite football. I watch it less and less now, and when I do watch it, the enjoyment is sucked out by the way it’s organised and run.
There’s real supporters who support less glamorous clubs because they love them. Not because they win anything or because it’s a tourist attraction. 1700 fans travelled from little Carlisle, just to watch their team that were relegated weeks ago. That’s proper football.
There’s obviously far less money, the facilities are nowhere near as good, the players can’t quite play the same kind of football, but it’s strangely enjoyable.
From scoring two in added time at Port Vale, to Wilson’s header against Bolton, to watching Collins’ penalty at Forest Green from a grass verge outside the ground because the one single turnstile wasn’t working quick enough, it’s been great.
Although saying that, I’m hoping we don’t have to return any time soon!

That's lovely that. Football just isn't the same without being able to go over the game with my grandad. I took his scarf yesterday, for some reason he bought a blue and yellow one instead of black and white. So if anyone here got hit in the face with a blue and yellow scarf when we scored yesterday, blame my grandad.

My other half is Spanish. She asked me "why are people queuing in the pub at 9am for beer?". Add Barcelona to the places that just don't get football.
To her credit, she did get me home to Sheffield in one piece.
