I worked for many years for, erm, a large American card issuer whose headquarters are prominently next door to the WTC, it was very strange and discomforting seeing it unfold and knowing that we had friends and colleagues there. Here’s something from todays Times, that I thought was worth sharing:-

I can imagine the bemused looks on peoples faces as they Google ‘RoyMcFarland’ and find out Derby apparently had a player in the England team back then.

I'm eternally optimistic so end up being disappointed a great deal but in recent times probably Albentosa - In the La Liga team of the month, impressing but then not much cop in the championship. ?

The thing is, it's not binary is it - It is normal to retain a positive outlook but have some concerns about where things are at or how long it's taking. It's also okay to feel negative about the whole thing while hoping for the best. I think what bugs people is when the same handful of people come along every day and repeat the same downbeat mantra, nothing new each time they post, just repeated negativity.

Arthur has already made a difference in the 4 day game, not least by being able to attract Masood and Lakmal. The latter's injury is a real blow and Derbyshire simply don't have the financial resources to have a second string of players to make us competitive in all forms of cricket, particularly against counties with the benefit of Test venues. 
I never watch the T20s (or The Hundred) because they just don't appeal to me, so I'm never going to judge the coach or the team on how we perform in this format. I'd like us to win, of course, but it doesn't really interest me.
