I just don’t get the virtual wing back system with just 2 ageing centre halves……go the whole hog and play 3 at the back with wing backs.

We look so vulnerable down the flanks. If we play our full backs so high we need another centre half in there..

I've heard there are loads of multi billionaires who want to own Derby without showing their face and just hiding behind the scenes and writing large checks for players of which they expect no return on! ?
But seriously, I think our fans need a dose of reality. We're not going to find the ''perfect'' owner, they don't exist.

Baldock may be an experienced striker going through a poor spell but, are we any better placed to carry him than an inexperienced youngster?
Other than one game (forget which it was now when he did a decent job of harassing the defenders) I don’t really remember Baldock contributing a great deal this season.

    The Derby Way!!!
Administrators confirmed that he has shown proof that he has the funds to purchase Derby, and that is why they are wineing and dining him, forget Alonso tactics sure the administrators know all about him, so have faith in the administrators

This is the thing, we're struggling for goals but it's not like we have this natural goal scorer on the bench that Rooney is ignoring.
Or he's responsible for the chances that are being wasted on the pitch.
Kazim missed most of the season so far and still not fit enough to play 90, Baldock in and out with injuries.
Love to see how Allardyce would magically solve this.
Minus the points deduction we would be sat 20th, just 3pts off 13th place when we was completely written off before the season started.
1 defeat after going 5 unbeaten and we're back here again. Beggars belief.
We're in a grind until January, clinging on to the hope Rooney is in a position to sign a striker.

My understanding was it was 3-4 weeks to decide on the route out of admin. I.e. pick the winner.
hopefully wrap up the takeover by the first week in January.
and then hopefully the EFL will get their fingers out and settle whatever disputes and all point deductions will be done and by the end of the season for this season. So we go into the 22/23 season with a clean slate.

I agree with @Kernow and @BucksRamregarding the attractiveness of a potential buyer who can get this tied up quickly.
We all know Morris thought he had buyers several times and couldn't get them over the line and we also know at least one of the other bidders was around before and still appears to be around, but not moving at pace.
A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush to the administrators,  and if they can get a deal over the line before January, they are more likely to be able to hold on to more of our assets i.e. players.
I think all this twitter stuff is just background noise. People put far too much store by it.

Didn't the administrators make any potential owners provide proof of funds of £5 million? Therefore he's at least a multi millionaire.

I do find it slightly amusing that people now claim to know the wealth of this random guy nobody had heard of a couple of hours ago, but now he's another Alonso and doesn't have any money ?‍♂️

Stick with Allsopp.  He’s played well in three games and kept clean sheets.  He’s made a mistake in one game and he needs his manager to show faith in him.  To drop him after one mistake in four games will only put fear into him and anyone else because the message is “one mistake and you’re out”.
And this is like someone starts a job on Monday and does really well for three days.  Then on Thursday they make one mistake and they’re told not come back on Friday!!  I think we could be a bit more tolerant.

Allsop has been fine for us so far, coming for a cross and not getting it is a mistake, but it's hardly the biggest howler in the world.
The truth is that whether we play Marshall, Allsop or Roos, they will all make mistakes. They are Championship goalkeepers for a reason. The ones in this league who make the fewest play for England, or would cost a similar amount to our entire squad.
Knight's goal went straight through the Luton's keepers legs, that's another mistake made by a Championship keeper. But it's not picked up on as much, because it's gone in our favour.

I’ve been critical of Rooney in the past on here so in the interest of balance I have to say he’s winning me over.  10 games in and you can see a style and pattern of play taking shape.  He’s trying to get us to play decent football, build from the back but with pace on the counter attack.
The last couple of weeks have also shown how tough his job has really been and highlighted some of the difficulties and problems he’s had that we haven’t always seen.  To find out about administration on TV must be tough but he’s handled himself well.  I also admire his honesty such as saying if he knew how bad it really was he wouldn’t have taken the job but following it with what sort of person would I be if I walked away.  It would be so easy to trot out the usual lines of it’s a big club, honoured to be here, etc.
He’s clearly building a great team spirit too.  The players clearly want to work for him.  We’re in for some tough weeks and months ahead but I’m starting to think he can bring us out of this in better shape.  Whatever happens this season, he deserves a chance to manage us in “normal” circumstances.

Read the Nixon snippet, sensationalist headline, but when you read it it’s all about if we don’t get a buyer we will have to prove we have funds to see the season out or we will remain in the embargo we’re in, which means we probably won’t be able to re-sign Jagielka and Baldock given Bielik and Kazim will be fully fit by then. To be honest, a fair and reasonable position from the EFL.

IF we get to January without a buyer then we know we will be in the absolute poo and probably have to sell players. Therefore the article says nothing new!!

And those thinking Lawrence is on £65k per week calm yourselves down. No way is he on that, £25-£30k tops! Mitrovic is regarded as biggest earner in champ normally and he’s on about £65k per week, maybe slightly more, that was when Fulham were promoted to the premier league and he signed for £25m!! No way would Derby have given Lawrence that sort of contract and if they had do you not think it would’ve been mentioned before now.

FlyBritishMidland reacted to Kernow in Who would you like as new DCFC owner?
I would like anybody that is willing to take on this Club in the current mess and look to make it sustainable. I can't believe anybody that says they'd rather be liquidated than have someone like Mike Ashley in charge, it simply can't be true. It's like when people say "I can't think of anything worse than..." or "I've had the worst day ever" because they dropped their coffee that they just paid £3 for.
If Mike Ashley comes in after all the uncertainty, then we'd be at least looking towards some certainty. If someone unknown comes in, with unknown funds and unknown intentions, how long before we might have to go through all this again? Newcastle fans have come on here to say how bad the football was and how unenjoyable seasons have been in the Premier League by scraping survival, or finishing in the middle of the bottom-half, then boo hoo.
If somebody like Mike Ashley came in and turned us in to a team who plays regular PL football, given the alternative future we could possibly face scrapping out in the lower divisions, then he would be very highly regarded here.

Anyone looking at that list and thinking I hope none of them buy the club, well you're effectively saying you hope the club ceases to exist.
Sure it's not an ideal list but we're are far from being in an ideal situation.
If the choice is one of the above OR no more Derby County, I know which one I'd pick...

I have no problem with Ashley potentially taking over at Derby
He pays the Bills - he doesn’t sell cheap - we currently have most of what we need as a club.
we tried the very rich local man in MM who has chosen to walk away - we nearly ended up with a fake Arab and a Spanish waiter
we did end up with administration
Give me a British based business man who wants to be appreciated
I don’t care if PP is name after one of his company’s - just sponsor us.
after the last 20 years I would settle for being in a relegation scrap in the premiership 4 in 5 seasons and coming through it.
This also makes sense to Ashley - it’s a business in distress and it just needs initial money in all reality, that can build to a nice profit whilst keeping a nice profile and he has local presence in Shirebrook not to mention two new shops opening in the city soon.

the Administrators should have the red carpet rolled out in his direction as we have no idea what we would get with someone else if there turns out to be anyone else!

Why don't you think they're just being nice? 1.4m isn't going to be a big deal to them right now. When they wanted the last instalment (which I think was one that put us further into embargo again) we weren't in administration and they probably thought we should pay up like any other club. Now they can see the former owner has got the club into a mess and they are doing their bit to help where possible. Unlike Steve Gibson who would like to see the club disappear all together by the look of things.

A quarter of the way through the season, it must be a first for the Championship for the league leaders and the team in bottom place to have the joint best defensive records, having conceded only 8 goals in 11 games (the same as Bournemouth). Given all the constraints Rooney has been operating under, it's a remarkable stat. We reach the international break with defensive players Jagielka, Stearman and Bielik injured so it's fair to say we are down to the bare bones, but we now have two weeks to lick our wounds and recharge our batteries.
The flipside of this coin is that we are also the joint lowest scorers in the division, along with Barnsley, hitting the net only 7 times in 11 matches. Our injured strike force sees Colin Kazim-Richards and Sam Baldock sidelined, so our only fit striker today was Jack Stretton, a 20 year old rookie.
The old adage is to build from the back and Rooney has done that impressively, and has given us a great platform we can build on for the rest of the season. But do we need to carry greater attacking threat if we are to survive, even if that is at the expense of our defensive stability? If the answer is yes, how do we do that most effectively?
I think the answer needs to be yes. If we don't start scoring more goals, I expect us to go down, even with "only" a 12 point deduction.

He was on international duty, returned but the next League game was too soon afterwards (Friday after Poland's game on the Wednesday). The team played well and the forward players kept their places.
Simple as that. No conspiracy. Just hasn't forced his way back in yet.
