Reggie Greenwood reacted to Gaspode in Derby County Administration (with the slight possibility of Liquidation still there)
Reading a lot of the posts on here makes me want to give up following football.....?

Would never support another club. Would either watch the reincarnation of the Rams or dip in and out of local clubs like Mickleover Sports and Matlock Town that I have an affinity with.
Might pop to the odd local game with my mate who follows a couple of clubs.
I would cancel Sky Sports during the football season as have no interest in other Prem or FL clubs

Pretty sure that the esteemed Percy said that Cocu and co left by mutual consent plus that Cocu being the gentleman he is had waived most of the compensation he was entitled to and took only a negligible sum ?

No doubt that the North East correspondent and author of the Daily Fail article is being fed snippets , encouraged by a local embittered owner with an axe to grind

It wouldn't surprise me if we'd done some kind of gardening-leave type thing, so instead of paying him a lump sum in compensation, we're still paying some fraction of his wages until he gets another job. So maybe if he doesn't get another job for the next 4 years, we might in theory end up paying him £8m, which fits with Morris quote's about it being a worst case scenario.
Likewise, the £20m HMRC bill is presumably deferred PAYE/NIC etc, so it will have to be paid, but they're not going to be demanding it all tomorrow. Many clubs, and many other businesses in general, will have used this scheme, and if HMRC start demanding massive payments upfront, they're just going to cause mass bankruptcies, so they will probably take a sensible approach.
The Dell loan also presumably has a payment schedule attached. They won't be demanding £15m tomorrow.
The entire article seems to be taking the worst case scenarios, and the total payable over many years, and assuming we owe it all tomorrow.

If Mel fell on his sword, who would pay the ongoing bills until a takeover goes through?

You see the relief of Stephen Pearce and Mel at full time against Sheffield Wednesday and you think well the club must still be in a salvageable position. If we were ducked anyway, why was there that reaction last week? Maybe I am wrong but at this point I think the media are putting out vague statements without truly knowing what is going on.

Hard to sell anything football related when there is a pandemic going on for any club - whilst our troubles are being enflamed by the national media other clubs must be in similar positions but any potential owner would think ( mistakenly) that they could sell 28-30,000 tickets to us lot.
there is a major football reset occurring this summer with so many players being released who will not get other jobs because the money simply will not be coming in and no club can guarantee selling players anymore as well as being unable to afford loan fees.
the parachute clubs will be be so far away from the rest this season it will be staggering

Beat me to finding/posting the tweet by about 20 seconds!
Some fans really seem to enjoy sticking the boot in to their own club. Things are bad enough without doing that.

I've seen that phrase used a few times recently on here.
Tabloid scum like the Mail exist because people trot out that phrase.
If you were accused of a crime you didn't commit, would you want to be judged by someone who believed there is never smoke without fire?

The article also talks about ongoing losses of x amount
haven’t we got only about 10 players registered to the club ?
ok not quite that but we must have a pretty low wage bill
look at forest for instance the have more centre midfielders on their books than we have registered players

As long as they are clear with their intentions , might even get to sign Paddy O'Doors.

I'd call utter bullhit on £8m to Cocu & Co (it was a mutual agreement, they didn't ask for their contracts paid up) & anything, let alone £20m, to HMRC
ducking idiots still just taking Kieran Maguire's estimates as truth is my guess
"One source said" - I wonder which Bamford name Kieran that is?

Its all bollux. The only debt is what Mel decides is debt. Mel could demand a few million or he could let some one take over for nowt.
The Mail haven't got a clue what's going on.
