Disappointed (but not shocked) that Washington came on instead of Brown and Robinson didn't get any minutes...

Solid performance with two well worked and taken goals. Thought Sibley looked sharp despite his lack of game time, which bodes well if we give him an extended run in the team.
Little disappointed we didn't see the young lad Brown given a run up front. Can understand him not starting but we know what Collins offers so why not give him at least a 20 mins run 2nd half? Only criticism though in what was a comfortable win in the end.

Jesus wept - 250 minutes IN LEAGUE ONE without a shot on target from open play and still its ‘ooh look another criticism of Warne’ from some fans.

Tell us the positives - we all want to see sunny uplands and successful football.

All I want is the enjoy watching my team play football, to know what the plan is and understand what each player is going to contribute. I’m really grateful to DC for saving the club, but the football is tedious.
Get Mac back, he’ll be out of Old Trafford soon anyway.

Or an up and coming young, fresh manager who likes passing football, say, like that guy at Hull.

2 shots on goal in over 250mins of football now. Both of those were penalties.
    Just saying.

    Back on topic for the match, Warne has said before he doesn’t like to change a winning team, as we lost the last game he’s got chance to make changes for this game. A couple of the players should be building up their fitness after injury (mainly Sibley and Barkhuizen), the new signings have had chance to train with their team mates, so while we do still have injuries to deal with there’s the chance to put out a competitive side. I’d like to see (but don’t necessarily think this is what Warne would choose) this;
                  Wildsmith
    Smith  Nelson  Cashin  Forsyth
                    Fornah
       Embleton        Hourihane
    NML         Waghorn       Sibley
Bench: Vickers, Bradley, Elder, Radcliffe, TJJ, Washington, Barkhuizen
There’s a lack of pace at the back so would just tell them to be solid and keep it simple, Fornah to screen the back 4 and get us moving forward, Hourihane to link defence and attack, Embleton to drive forward from midfield, and the front 3 to be a bit more fluid/varied in their play. At times NML and Sibley play as orthodox wide men, other times Waggy drops deep and they fill the space…..that sort of thing 🤷🏻‍♂️
I realise it won’t happen that way, but it’s what I’d like to see.

Whatever league we're in, wouldn't you like to watch entertaining football rather than cling to the hope that we will clag a goal off a free kick or corner?

Difficult to answer. I enjoyed it for a few months of last season as there was a time we were playing very well. Apart from that no not really. This season so far has been a hard watch for the most part. The question is what is Warnes football? Is it what we saw when we surged into 4th place last season looking to hunt down the top 2? Or is it the hopeless football we're seeing now? Let's hope it's the former.

Once we’ve got players back from injury I’d like to see something close to this:
                               Wildsmith
    Ward      Nelson        Cashin        Fozzy
                    Fornah                 Bird
       NML                  Sibley         Thompson
                               Waghorn
    Other options in each position:
    GK- Vickers
RB- Wilson (Smith could also drop back there)
CB- Bradley (Forsyth could move across too)
    LB- Elder
    CM- Hourihane, Smith, Robinson, Radcliffe
    CAM- Embleton
    Wingers- Barkhuizen, Richards
    Strikers- John-Jules, Collins, Washington, Brown
    - Feel there’d be so much more energy in this side, which would obviously help significantly with trying to press.
    - Wanna see Robinson, Radcliffe, Richards and Brown in and around the first team, and given significant minutes in the Papa Johns Trophy. Brown, Robinson and Radcliffe were all regular features in preseason yet can’t get a minute on the pitch.
    - Thompson to play his sort of inverted number 10 role where he comes inside when we’re on the ball like he was before his injury.

How terribly sad. Just breaking through and then effectively out for the season. Very tough for a young footballer in that position. Hope he copes and comes back well.

Last year was a nightmare. The almost unthinkable nearly happened - we were so close to losing our beloved football club, founder members of the football league, champions under Clough and Mackay, FA cup winners after the war and European Cup semi-finalists.
David Clowes, a genuine fan with the means to do so, rescued the club at the last minute. He himself says it "was close".
Thanks to him, we have a club, our club.
We must learn the lessons of the past. We must not get into the same precarious mess ever again.
But....we can move on. We must move on. We should now look forward. We do not have to merely be content that the club is still in existence.
It's ok to demand more from the manager, the teams on the pitch (not just the first team but especially them).
We should demand exciting, entertaining football that gets results. It does not mean that we won't forever be grateful to David Clowes for saving the club.
It means we want Derby County to once again be a beacon for good football. Attacking football. Positive football. Entertaining football.
That means passing football, intricate moves, running with the ball, creating chances. It doesn't mean sitting back and hoping to score from a corner or a free kick.
I like Paul Warne, the man. But I don't like his tactics. I don't like his desire to play 3-5-2 with the players he has available, I don't like his use of players out of position or not giving the academy players a chance. I don't like the emphasis on set pieces rather than attacking play.
Yes, at least we still have a club.
But we are Derby County. The football should be, must be, ought to be better 🐏
