I think what is happening is exactly what some sensible forum members have been saying for weeks- injury crisis over and we’ve started to get some luck and take chances and now, shock horror, we’re winning games
I don’t doubt we’ll go on another bad run at some point this season which is why Warne says he never gets too up or down after a win/defeat

Respect your opinions and not trying to wade into and argument or inflame matters, but your comment about 1 million quid wouldn't break the bank or fit into our business plan did interest me.
I would have inferred by our unwillingness not to spend this sum of money then it wouldn't have fit into our business plan and or Clowes wasn't willing or couldn't underwrite this - what makes you think otherwise?

I've seen the post match footage from the Bournemouth Newcastle game with Trippier vs the fans at the end of the game.
Great publicity has been given to this after the away defeat.
Cast your minds back to the end of match debate with a player from our club after an away loss with our fans.
It's not just our club but it seems that there's an unpleasant emerging pattern here.
I hope that these are two one offs and that fans can express their frustrations albeit created from unrealistic expectations in a constructive manner.
This is a few weeks after Newcastle beat PSG in the Champions League for God's sake.

And there in lies the issue with a proportion of deluded Derby fans....
Less than 18 months from going under, working to a tight business plan to demonstrate we won't make the same mistakes, so let's just spend a million to strengthen the team..........

All along it's never been a binary decision but forum members on here have made it so.
I purposely didn't post anything last night as one win doesn't dictate the entire course of one season in the same manner that one loss doesn't either.
But after a loss then it would seem that's our season doomed if you listened to some forum members reactions and responses. Or because we're now x points from the top 2 places.
Anyway it's called balance and the more we see of it on here the more threads like this will start to dissolve away into nothingness.

I really do get that but just maybe amidst our dreams of greater things, perhaps we shouldn’t be thinking of Warne as a Clough or even a Smith. Just a manager who will do a job and set us on the first lap or two of a relay and then pass the baton to another, for the next leg. ?

Maybe Warne isn’t the long term manager but as the short/medium term he needs our support ? Before we get a Ferrari perhaps we need to get comfortable with our modeo andget to a destination where we might get the keys to something better.

Lots of Humble Pie being eaten tonight by the “Warne Outers”.  Was it Warne genius to put Wildsmith on free kick duties ? He really did put some good balls into the opposition box. There is a long way to go for Paul to win over his critics only a handful of us fans stayed after the final whistle to give him a round of applause .

I agree. The results have been good this week. The performances have been better, but we were coming off quite a low base and seeing things sustained is what will endear the management to the public.
There seem to be fewer questionable pressers as well, but maybe that is because of the better results.
The highlights package put up yesterday suggested Barnsley had the better chances up to the penalty, which seemed to be "one of those you've seen given" according to the commentary. Derby had the second half tho....even though the goals were both "route 1"-esque.

Agreed. I argued that point a few times.
I was Warne-in, not because I thought he was doing amazingly wel but because he has a track record of getting out of this league.  While we are still in the hunt I prefer to stick, rather than constantly twisting in the hope we can trade our cow for magic beans this time.
The narrative over the poor football was over stated too. That's not to say some performances haven't been poor and we have thrown away a couple of results against teams we should be beating.
But even now 2 more wins and we'd be right up there. The season is long and just starting to unfurl.  A run of 2 or 3 poor games and results and the pressure will be huge again.

Who said there was a dressing room meltdown? I think Hourihane made it pretty clear that the players were trying their best. Just because we lost games to some poor teams doesn't mean the players weren't motivated.

Yes cos owners interfering in tactics always ends well.  I'm sure they have discussions where Clowes airs his opinions but I think what you have suggested is pretty ludicrous.

Haven’t read through the thread so probably an unpopular opinion, but I thought in the main we played well. Certainly better, even at 2-0 down, than in some recent league games.
The game showed up very well where we are strong and where we need to strengthen. Our approach play was excellent. Warne cannot legislate for Foz falling asleep or Bradley being unable to hold off his man. Or some of the poor quality pull backs from promising attacks. We all know we need a decent striker in the window. If cashin goes we will need a first choice centre half as well. We should have had the game with by half time but we didn’t, and as soon as we gifted them the second they just parked the bus.
To be able to play through 11 human beings camped in their area it requires the technical skill of a good Premiership team - as I type this watch how Liverpool are struggling to get through Luton - as we are a reasonable to good league one team.
Rather than just moan and think we should be smashing a team who are good as at least a quarter of league one teams, I’d praise the fact that they stuck at it and managed to get a result which looked highly unlikely at 88 mins.

Everything else is irrelevant unless you'd have preferred that to happen.
Or are you saying it was pointless of him saving the club if all that was going to happen subsequently was us to piddle around in the lower leagues for an indeterminate amount of time?
That's how your post reads to me but apologies if I've got the wrong end of the stick.
