I understand Wycombe's feeling a bit harshly done here but what I don't understand why is it with us? EFL hasn't deducted us points for FFP breaches... yet. So are they suing because we went in to administration this season and not last season?? If so, then surely they'd get laughed out of court.
If / when the EFL does give us a point penalty for FFP then again it was not our decision when they actually dock us these points.

If clubs file for administration as a result of Derby successfully appealing the deduction, then it's highly likely those clubs will fail their own appeals... evidence will point towards Covid not being the cause of them going into administration.

Have to wonder about Sam Rush given we now know we shouldn’t have trusted a single word that came out of Morris’ mouth.

Ambition is measured on a club by club basis, Man Utds ambition is to win the Premier League, Norwich's ambition is to stay in the Premier League.
Before the administration our ambitions were always to be like Burnley, Wolves, Crystal Palace, Southampton a stable (for the most part) mid-table Premier League club.
It's nice to dream in football but you have to be grounded and realistic as well, the teams I listed above and Newcastle are also in this bracket mostly get this, mid-table and if Europe (Europa) is close than that can be considered an excellent season but it seems Newcastle fans ambitions are more in line with the Man Utd, Chelsea etc and that's unrealistic.

From my understandingly in administration the only outgoing should be essential costs of keeping the lights on as a football club, which is why you see unfortunate layoffs if not deemed essential to this.
They are accountants with the aim of getting the club a new owner. Whilst Mel appealing something like this would have come off as just another Mel vs EFL d*ck measuring contest, the administrators must have found something to prove administration was genuinely the cause of Covid and simply not just another excuse from Mel.
A reduction to the point penalty would increase our saleability after all and administrators would not spend 300k frivolously, so we'll see...

Anyone looking at that list and thinking I hope none of them buy the club, well you're effectively saying you hope the club ceases to exist.
Sure it's not an ideal list but we're are far from being in an ideal situation.
If the choice is one of the above OR no more Derby County, I know which one I'd pick...

I would like anybody that is willing to take on this Club in the current mess and look to make it sustainable. I can't believe anybody that says they'd rather be liquidated than have someone like Mike Ashley in charge, it simply can't be true. It's like when people say "I can't think of anything worse than..." or "I've had the worst day ever" because they dropped their coffee that they just paid £3 for.
If Mike Ashley comes in after all the uncertainty, then we'd be at least looking towards some certainty. If someone unknown comes in, with unknown funds and unknown intentions, how long before we might have to go through all this again? Newcastle fans have come on here to say how bad the football was and how unenjoyable seasons have been in the Premier League by scraping survival, or finishing in the middle of the bottom-half, then boo hoo.
If somebody like Mike Ashley came in and turned us in to a team who plays regular PL football, given the alternative future we could possibly face scrapping out in the lower divisions, then he would be very highly regarded here.

If spending the majority of the last 14 years comfortably in the premier league is tough times I would hate to see how the Geordies cope when something actually bad happens to their club. That isn't tough at all - sorry, but it just isn't. At best its a mild irritation that they can't compete with some of the biggest teams in the entire world at the top end of the Premier League, but virtually nobody can. Its an absolute joke that Newcastle fans think they have actually had a difficult time of it for the past couple of decades. They haven't had tough times under Ashley at all.

Donnay, Lillywhites, Lonsdale, Carlton, Dunlop, Slazenger, Karrimor, Campri, No Fear, Kangol, Firetrap and House of Fraser all businesses/brands on their last legs that he's purchased.
He knows the stature of Derby and the current market price due to administration and he seems to love a good bail out.
Added by the fact he now has no football club (the biggest sport in the country) for his sport brand, he'd be silly to at least not look at the books, if he's willing to progress further after seeing them remains to be seen but based on his track record it would be very unlike him to not even enquire about Derby in it's current state.
