People are being a bit over-sensitive here. Rooney was asked about Sibley specifically and answered. He didn’t ‘single him out’. 
He’s right to as well if he knows what Sibley can produce but isn’t doing so in training or when he comes on.
Today he’s had 20 mins and was anonymous as anyone else other than missing a good chance from a corner. If you’re a sub you’ve got to go on and do something different, otherwise there’s no point going on. 
 
I’m of the opinion that he’s due a couple of starts because those starting ahead of him aren’t delivering. But if the manager thinks he will respond to a kick up the backside, then time will tell if he’s right.

Absolutely. There is a real sense of apathy around the club in this hinterland where nothing can happen or move on until the sale. Rooney did well to stand his ground and insist that no important players were sold in the transfer window, understanding that it was our only hope if we want to be playing Championship football. 
But if anyone was in any doubt, and it's hard to see how, the sale of younger players and the type of loans we have got in just show what dire straits we are in at the moment on and off the pitch.

It's no good blaming either manager if the players available aren't good enough to achieve game by game results, regardless of the opposition. 
To my mind, Cocu would have taken us down, and Rooney is doing a better job with the same tools at his disposal. Problem is, the tools aren't any better than a lower midtable team.
We have hardly any creativity or goals in us, but at least we've shored things up at the back. 
We can only hope the loan players add something going forward, or we remain in great danger of going down. 
If we do finish 21st or above, it'll be a job well done in the circumstances but unfortunately a sign of things to come unless we can find someone to buy the club and invest in the team.
