Hourihane can’t run - I get that.
What I can’t understand is why he takes the deepest midfield position.
He is the most likely of our midfielders to score a goal. He should be the most advanced and thus able to hover around the edge of their box when a ball is crossed.
Bird and whoever can sit deeper and play it simple like Hourihane does. They will also be quicker to support the defence, whereas once passed, Hourihane is stuffed and out of the game.

Maybe Warne as decided against signing a striker after seeing Sonny Bradley up front briefly the other night.
Signing a defender frees Bradley up to take up a strikers position.
 

I think the problem is that our fans expect players to come in and perform straight away.
Players are rarely signed on three-month contracts, yet they probably should be because that is the grace period players get before being written off and deemed poor recruitment or a failure.
Just because Ward, Bradley, Washington and others haven’t yet met expectations, it doesn’t mean that they can’t come to the fore in their second or third seasons with the club.
It always reminds me of Vydra. He really struggled in his first season but then was our best and most valuable player the following season.

How can you class what are mainly free or nominal transfers as big-money signings when we are not privy to the wages, bonuses, or the agents fees being paid?
Yes, good players can come in and make an immediate impact. However many players need six months to a year before they find  their feet, understand their role, settle and start to perform. Many good players tend to look improved in their second year with a team, learning from the previous year.
The overall picture is only poor if your mind is made up. Keep an open mind and maybe some of these poor signings will surprise you.

Sibley could do a job at LB, however I think his future lies elsewhere. Therefore, I'd stick with Elder and give him a run of games to see what he can do.

Well I don’t know that much but he looked pretty good to me and if fit I’d be very pleased to have him in our current match day squad. He’s got pace, strength and a reasonable scoring record. He looked powerful and put the wind up CB’s 
Yes he’s getting on a bit, his injuries have been sad for him and disappointing for us but we are currently a 3rd tier club so given the pros, cons and this present status what exactly do people expect ? 
 
Hope he’s fit soon and will be there to help us get over the line. 

Just been in Littlehampton’s British Heart Foundation shop. Beryl reckons CBT will sign but it might drag on for a week or two. We are also interested in a young winger, perhaps loan from Prem her sources say. Any interest in Keogh is wide of the mark.

Wildsmith was dropped because of his form in his last couple of games.  You'd have very different results if you compared the two keepers stats from their last two league games.  
Thought Vickers would probably just come in for one game to give Wildsmith a kick up the backside.  Remind him his standards can't drop. Haven't seen anything from Vickers to suggest he is a better bet than Joe so think it would be harsh if Vickers keeps his place.
