    Some amazing memories Loweman2.
That iconic picture of Bobby D wheeling away after scoring pretty much sums up my BBG memories. Perhaps my favourite BBG match, for so many reasons, was beating Palace to clinch promotion. Robbie Van der Laan you legend!
I'm just interested. One of your comments suggested you were, like me, just too young to remember the glory years of the league titles (apologies if I'm mistaken), so what is your favourite BBG memory, and what's your favourite bit of memorabilia?

    Nice one.
    Special days, like you say.
We never saw the League winning teams, but we had those Arthur Cox years.
I think that's why everyone loved the BBG. Different generations had different memories, each special to them.
I have grown fond of Pride Park over the years, but only as much as its where we now call home.
The South Stand can be amazing at times, but my spiritual home will always be the Popside, watching Booby D banging them in.

I'm not sure what other clubs may or may not be deducted points this season, but others gave suggested it is a possibility, and in these uncertain times, how can anybody rule it out?
My point however Ram1988 was specifically aimed at the comment on our goal difference being superior to the teams in and around the bottom of the table. In most cases it is, but Reading's goal difference is better than all of the teams around them except ours.
Any other clubs being deducted points this season, if they were sat mid table before such a points deduction would in theory have a much better goal difference than say Barnsley or Peterborough.
So my point was, that whilst our goal difference looks like it would give us an advantage over teams genuinely in a relegation battle because they are poor, it might not give us as much of an advantage over any teams that are in a relegation battle due to a points deduction, like Reading game. Sorry if I didn't make that clear.

I remember the days of teams sending one player out specifically to 'man mark' the opposition's most dangerous player. Indeed in the past we have regularly used players to do exactly that.
So rather than allow Mitrovic to bully one of our players, we could keep just 2 centre halves and put one of the cdm's on Mitrovic all game. I bet Knight would be so effective at this and I think it would drive Mitrovic mad, maybe even wind him up so he sees red or gets taken off.
It might appear a bit negative, and take away some of our midfield legs, but I think taking Mitrovic out of the equation would go some way to negating much of what Fulham do.

How about coaching the team to play the situation?
If the opposition aren't pressing, play out from the back.
If the opposition are pressing, play a bit longer.
Is it really not that simple?

It's got everything to do with tactics.
That's what English football is based on. If the team with the best 11 players won every game, football would die in empty stadiums.
A lesser team of average players, playing to their strengths, and knowing their weaknesses, with a competent manager and with tactics suited to those strengths and weaknesses, should be capable of giving anybody a game.
We have an obvious weakness in the way we play, the opposition know it, but we keep doing it. For God's sake why?
As others have said, play like this in League 1 and we'll struggle big style.
    Sort it out Wayne!
