Hourihane was asked about tactics at the fans forum and said it was up to the players to adapt to what the manager wants. In saying today, we are trying, he's giving the same message.
I think it is his way of saying we're doing what we're told to do. My take on that (both times) is that it's not what he - and probably several others - wants to do.
I'm maybe just thinking that because it's not what I want them to do, either.

Was at the game , big shout out for Conor for coming over to a toxic away end and trying to explain his frustrations , same again some shameful behaviour by some of our so called fans, don’t get me wrong it was not a good performance and the ref was a clown  but some of the abuse aimed at most of the players and manager was way over the top

There's some sense in this post. I would have classified myself as in the Warne happy clapper brigade but even I'm beginning to waver. I've been expecting an improvement but I'm not seeing it. The way we have been playing is not how I expected a Warne side to perform. I did not go to Shrewsbury but it's how I've been feeling over the last several matches.
I thought we had turned a corner in the Blackpool game (I was there for that one) but it's beginning to look like a false dawn. Injuries have not helped but our midfield is all wrong. There is simply not enough energy there. It just does not work with three of Bird, Fornah, Hourihane and Smith playing.
If I had to vote for a replacement for Warne then it would be given to Eustace. All the other names mentioned such as Warnock and Rowett leave me cold.
Tuesday is looking very important at the moment.

We paid 170€ on the official site for tickets to see Coldplay (yes, I know......) in Barcelona in May that were in the same area as tickets for 105€ on first release. It's a complete ripoff, but unfortunately it's the only way to be sure that you will receive official tickets that haven't been sold 4 or 5 times over already. There were some people being turned away because the number on their ticket had already entered the stadium.

It also encourages ticketbuyers to look at venues' extortionate premium packages when they wouldnt otherwise. They could just not allow resale until say a month before as would be ok for genuine resellers but touts couldnt afford to fund all their stock that long. I know there are more important things in the world but just another area where ord people are ripped off. Dont start me on London theatre pricing also!

Congrats. Just looked on that viagogo joke website and if I put 4 tickets sitting together for the Tuesday at London, there are 44 different set if 4 available.
Trouble is, tout purchasing is in the promoter/venues interest as they sell as many tickets as possible. Assume it's pressure from these places that means touting is still legal.
It's one thing for dodgy characters to buy some extra tickets and try to flog them outaide the venue. Another thing for people to set up bots to buy loads if tickets, then sell them on websites ran/owned by the ticket companies.

They need to do something about ticket sales and them immediately being on resale sites at hugely inflated prices. In this day and age there must be something they can do. What website were you trying on? I had 4 open in queues and got two in London on the Monday on AXS when the others seemed dead!

Know I'm massively swimming against the tide with this take, but I really couldn't see any point in carrying on.

Our Community Trust does some amazing work, every day of the week - not just on match days.
A lot of what they do goes often unseen but affects so many families.
It’s a fabulous organisation and one we can all be extremely proud of.

There were those reports in press only a few games into the season about Rooney lining up his coaching staff, for a job that wasn't even available! No denials there.
I don't for one moment believe Rooney signed on with the intention of becoming manager. I think he genuinely saw it as an opportunity to learn from a great coach. I then think  he realised his playing days were numbered (quicker than expected) and that behind the scenes it wasn't what was sold to him (or Cocu for that matter). His performances after lockdown were dreadful, he had completely let himself go, it showed a huge lack of respect on all parts. When things weren't going well, I believe he used it to his advantage (or was advised to) to position himself as the man to save the day. His big things will be different speech, 15-20 games later, it was as bad, if not worse than before!
Rooney to me remains a conflicting character. On one hand, I thought he was magnificent as a figure head (as manager...no) when the club were in crisis. On the other, I can't really forgive a player who undermimes his manager, a player who let himself go to the point of being useless when we needed him most. A manager who showed appaling man management of Whittaker and to some degree Sibley. Add to that, despite being the man fighting to stop the final nail going in the coffin, he very nearly puts it in himself with the Kirchner deal.
A well written character in a modern story, his moral compass remains ambiguous.

as a kid, I used to think Gary Micklewhite was quick, always seemed to arrive at the back post to score from crosses from the left wing, maybe my memory is playing tricks and he just had good positional sense.  What a great player and servant to the club he was.

Leeds have the same problem with people re-selling tickets. I believe they now randomly pick fans to make them collect their tickets at the away ground and they need to provide Id when they are handed over. A possible idea for us

Maybe it's just me, but if a player plays a bunch of games at League One level, then steps up and plays a bunch of games at Championship level, then steps up and plays a bunch at Prem level, that makes the player a Prem player.  Not a player who's spent most of his career in the lower leagues 🤷‍♂️.

Its not just you.  Rooney was the right man at the right time in admin. His profile highlighted our plight at the right time and I admired him fighting for us when I had always disliked him previously.
But I never liked the way he and/or his team connived for him to take Cocu's job and it seems the same has happened at Birmingham as he's been linked for ages. Like you I didn't like how he just seemed to ditch us and scarper with a lame excuse to another job - Rosenior didnt and must have worked his butt off to get a team together. It made me always think Rosenior probably was behind much of it anyway that season. Perhaps I should have stuck to my initial opinion of WR!

The whole debate is being skewed by the constant harping of a minority.
To such an extent that I'm being positioned as a happy clapper, Warne-loving fanboy .... when actually I consider myself pretty neutral.
I don't subscribe to the narrative of the hoofball that is being pedalled. I've been to a few games and watched all but 1 or 2 of the other games and we can be fairly direct but it's nothing like what is being repeatedly claimed.
The derision about him being a PE teacher is ludicrous,  do fans think all the other managers are Professors of Football? I have 2 friends who were managed by Warnock back in the day and they both said he was a decent bloke who had a good way about him but tended to favour certain players. No eulogies, no mention of him being a master technician or a chin-stroking football philosopher.
We are right in the play off picture, win our game in hand and we are 7 points from automatic promotion with 3/4s of a season left.
Players to come back...let's just see how we are doing at Christmas before we press panic and start the whole process again.
I'm taking a break from posting now about the football as it's become pointless just answering the same 'facts' over and over.
