I noticed that he identified as a derby player in the interview and it seemed significant. Hope so. Didn't know his contract is up in the summer. Would be a really exciting signing. Tenacious, skillful, reasonably quick and strong with an eye for a forward pass. He's a great full back and could be a pacier option at centre back. I think there are other types of quickness that you lose as you get older that don't have anything to do with pace, stamina, or general "mobility" (ie getting around the pitch).
I'm thinking here of what people call "quick feet", the ability to control and release the ball quickly, those fine motor skills that allow you to just move the ball the split-second before the tackle arrives. Being able to do difficult things quickly and precisely.
As people have said Martin was never fast or mobile, but I imagine part of the reason he's now without a club is that he's also losing those other types of "quickness" too. 
It's something you see in somewhat like Ronaldo. Yes, he's lost pace and dynamism. But I also think his feet just can't do what they used to do, as precisely and quickly as they used to do.

Obviously living in Bristol I’m lucky ?enough to speak to lots of City fans and they are delighted to be finally rid of him.

I loved CM at Derby but I’m not sure we could accommodate him in the current squad.

There have been comments on here and on social media platforms that go beyond observing his current poor run of form in my opinion. The matchday thread from Monday night probably has a couple of examples. 
And my view has nothing to do with trying to say one supporter has more merit than another.

What do you mean? He was fairly isolated and struggled to hold the ball up against 3 centre backs in Aguerd (World Cup semi-finalist, cost £30mil), Ogbonna (ex-Juve, played 16 times for Italy) and Kehrer (cost £10mil, played 24 times for Germany).
As a League 1 striker who cost £0, he should’ve done a lot better and completely deserved all the stick he received.

Will we get a bigger allocation for Barnsley than what we currently have? with them doing so well etc.
I am down in Derby for a funeral of a wonderful DCFC friend on the Friday and would like to go to the Barnsley game on the Saturday.
I’m about to book travel and accommodation, but not knowing if I can get in or not for the Barnsley fixture, doesn’t make the planning any easier. I didn’t buy an Away membership as I’d be in the very last section hoping for the best anyway.
When my wonderful friend was young, we managed to get into Derby matches all around the world, a lot easier than this so called modern world is now.

A good chance to look at our new under 21 signings as Alfreton have moved the date of the Derbyshire Senior Cup game to avoid our first team game on 28th.
