What he said - I've been here more than once, no longer have a life that revolves around 3pm Saturday. Football has become a fickle interest, they have changed the relationship with the fan to one of a customer. The recent events have also given us all so much more to find to do on a weekend - it's sad to admit but I'm really not that bothered enough to panic.
However, I do seem bothered enough to post on here about three times a week about how unbothered I am so I appreciate I am likely not being true to myself.

Who's panicking? Rooney nearly managed to get us relegated to League 1 last season I'm sure he'll succeed this time around.

Well you all know what I think I think we should protest against efl and let them know we are backing our club and help Derby county fight them.

It's not panicking it's legitimate concern at this point. The club is six weeks away from the beginning of the season, we have an absolute threadbare squad that couldn't compete for more than a month at this level before putting us bottom (yes it is awful) little idea about future ownership of the club and we're under embargo with an inexperienced managerial team. If this isn't enough to make us concerned about the club's future what is?

A Derby fan, in panic, asked if the season was going the right way
To which Yoda responded, “off course, we are.”

Not sure why you would panic.
We are at the low point already, poor manager, threadbare squad, youngsters and senior pros not yet signed up to new deals, worst run of results in the pro divisions, owner who wants out, no budget.
The only way is up from here, if any of the above improve then that’s a good thing.....at least that’s how I’m trying to look at it!

Fixtures are released Thursday, that truly is a day to start panicking when you see our threadbare squad without a kit to wear away at West Brom first game of the season.

So we are waiting for the result of the DC panel (or whatever it’s called) and simultaneously waiting for a potential takeover announcement.
Both seem imminent, but in honesty, both seem to have been kicked down the road so many times you just wonder when and if we will ever see the end of them.

Meanwhile DCFC seem in complete limbo …. armed with a selection of academy graduates and a handful of championship or near championship level players, a team which many think are barely capable of staying in the league and a squad that just is simply way to thin.
Our manager has barely kept us up and was very clear a month ago that he needed action immediately to prepare for next season … after which nothing has happened. How much patience does he have?
Our best youth players are not signing contracts and even mediocre players in our squad are being snapped up by rivals.
So as fans, do we continue to sit and wait and play the patience game … or do we panic?

Let's hope him playing for Poland and doing well at the euros he will come back a different with his concordance back willing take players on not afraid to shoot again and also provide assist as well.

I thought Jozwiak played well last night against Spain, which is never easy. You have to be very tactically disciplined without the ball and be ready to use it well after long spells without a touch, and he managed it very well. Won the ball back high up the pitch on serveral occasions, rarely gave it away and produced an excellent cross for Lewandowski which none of the pundits or reports seemed to mention.
I like what I've seen from him so far and with a fresh season to come I think he'll only improve.

As ever, its a question of context. Looking purely at Jozwiak's output without it, you would be disappointed with his contribution last season. He did struggle to provide quality, got easily frustrated & his decision making wasn't always the best. There were glimpses of his potential quality though, he retains possession very well & no-one could question his workrate or defensive discipline.
Can't think of many harder gigs than being a young lad moving to another country in the middle of a pandemic, into matches with no fans, into a team that struggled horribly all season & with an inexperienced management team to help him. He also got precious little help with the team selections, often being one of only 3 attack minded players in the side (when we went 3-4-3) & hence got even more attention from defenders in our notoriously tough division.
In a good, attacking side he'd be very good & part of me hopes he gets a really good move off the back of this tournament. Clearly I'd rather he stayed with us & tore the division up but the reality is he could fetch good money & he can't be that enthused returning for another season at the fag end of the Championship playing dismal football. To contradict some on here, he's actually too good for us.

Can't believe some of these comments.Jos is playing in the biggest competition in Europe...He's playing alongside one of the best players in Europe and doesn't look out of place..yet he's supposedly rubbish and not good enough for a team who finished 4th from bottom of the second division...I seriously worry about the football knowledge of some of the posters on here.

I've read some right nonsense about this lad on here and on Twatter and the like. IMO, he's a talented young lad and we're lucky to have him. Hopefully he can really kick on this season as it must have been a proper baptism of fire last year.
It's often the case that young players coming from abroad take a season to settle in and I think with Bielik's injury, being stuck away from home under lockdown, playing in a side so short of confidence, not to mention reading some of the garbage spewed about him in the dark recesses of social media, it really can't have been easy. If we actually play with a bit of tempo this season, I can see him doing really well. His work ethic is superb and that earns him some credit with me irrespective.

Having watch him when he first joined us, plus in a number of Polish internationals, plus a couple of highlight reels of his time at Lech Poznan, there's no doubt in my mind he's a talented footballer.  I thought he did more than Ok last night - yes he misplaced a couple of balls, but he worked hard and tried stuff.  He got himself into some good positions, but didn't receive the ball.
I don't think anyone here can argue he's a cr4p player - he's not.  It wasn't long ago most were raving about him then of course his form dipped, as did his confidence (along with nearly our whole team). Losing Bielik had a detrimental affect on him IMO plus I feel the lockdowns also affected him - young lad away from home. And yes, he does need to work on his end product, I don't think that's in question.  I strongly believe though, with the right players around him, increased experience of what's required in the English game, and rediscovering his self belief he could be a star performer for us.  I for one look forward to seeing a rejuvenated Joz next season.

I know...it's probably been done to death but...oh it was special...
How apt: the very final game at the famous old Baseball Ground was against the Arsenal. I am minded of a game some years earlier against the same opposition, for it was an occasion that really brought home to me just how special the place was; a true theatre of football:
The date: 8th September 1979. A sultry sunny September Saturday of an Indian summer. Sweat, cig-smoke and the smell of alcohol-breath fused with hot-dog onions filled the Pop Side air. Arsenal were in town, a side replete with silky, star-studded names that dripped from the tongue like golden syrup: Pat Jennings, Liam Brady, Sammy Nelson-the bum-show-er, O’Leary, Hollins, Rix, Talbot, Stapleton and Alan Sunderland, all perm and moustachioed; the latter two had, in May, ripped the FA Cup from Man Utd in the final of the century. For Derby there was no longer a Gemmill, a Hector, a McFarland or Todd, or even a Charles George. In rapt contra-distinction we had a ring of Irish: Aiden McCafferey, Vic Morland, David Langan, Andy Crawford, and a liquorice-assortment of stalwarts like David Webb, Steve Powell and Steve Buckley, all honest triers but in truth it was thoroughbreds v also-rans, giant oak trees against mere saplings.  We did though have John Duncan, Scottish International all handsome and broad, and neat, and the winger called Gordon Hill, who had killed Rams at Hillsborough in the FA Cup semi just 3 years before. The Baseball Ground was synonymous with trench mud but even that was no more. But there wasn’t a blade of grass either. Instead the surface was 35 tonnes of hard golden sand; had the ref entered the arena carrying a beach-ball nobody would have batted an eye lid. In the pre-match kick-in, wisps of disturbed sand danced on the air. The first half was a foregone conclusion long before 45 mins was up with Arsenal commanding a 2-0 lead.
Then during the break, something strange began to occur. As sun and heat and alcohol combined, the Pop Side found its voice and songs of deep Derby irony began to fill the air...”You need SAND to hold a lit-tul bay-bee, you need SAND to wipe away a tear...” and “Mr SAND-Man,  bring me a dream (bung, bung, bung bung...”). At first, it was a mere ironic acceptance of the Derby team’s fate, but as the 2nd half kicked-off, with Rams attacking the Ossie End, what started to unfurl was a truly remarkable 45 mins. If only we could get one back. Suddenly, Buckley, with lump-hammer left peg, drove the ball at Jennings from 30 yards. The ball, zipped, and dipped, and hit the ground, leather travelling and bouncing on sand, and, smacked the back of the net with Jennings flapping on the floor; 1-2, Pop Side all erupting in Vesuvian delight, a deafening Derbyshire din of high decibel noise. The sound became a continuous stream; the sun, sand and black and white, wall-to-wall volume, a crescendo-ing cacophony of a collective consciousness was stirring the Rams to gargantuan efforts. Arsenal began to cower and fear took hold. I don’t remember Vic Moreland’s equaliser, but I do remember the rocket-propelled roar and the terrace surge as pure pandemonium broke out in the Pop Side. Now, with clock ticking down, 43 minutes had flashed by, we sung to kingdom come. Last minute, Langan...to Carter...Carter in the corner, crosses to Duncan and bullet-header...Jennings’s dustbin-lid sized hand parries...on to the post... and out for a corner....Ohhhhhhh! How we re-coiled....
    But wait...Carter’s corner, inch perfect...Duncan again...bullet forehead, ball bulges onion-bag...Goallllllllllllll, the roar again...3-2...mayhem....Final Whistle....Oh fffffff...foot-balll!
As I walked from the ground, outside an Arsenal fan exclaimed, “Liam Brady walks on water, but he can’t run on sand!”. I’d been to the Baseball Ground many times before, but now as a 14 year old, I properly realised how the combination of the architecture – tight, compact stands that trapped the sound, sending it ping-ponging around the entire ground, the proximity of the pitch, and how the fanatical Rams fans, touched by the memory of magic, Real Madrid floodlit nights, - could all combine to fuel an energy that transmitted from the terraces to the men in white just yards away.
Outside, I watched as the Gooners’ team coach drove away...Pat Jennings saw me stare from his front window seat and tipped me a wink. Monday’s Daily Mail match report described how Arsenal bemoaned that Derby had transmitted the sound of the 16,429 fans through the PA system, in amplification. As if... It was just a special place; and I was there.

The biggest surprise for me is we’ve gone from having an unusually high number of five U23 goalkeepers (Idem, Foster, Halwax, Sykes-Kenworthy and Yates) to none.
I suppose second-year scholar (next season) Alfie Roberts could move up to U23 with Harry Evans coming in as a first-year scholar to challenge Harvey Randle, but I imagine we will bring in an U23 goalkeeper or two.
In the season run-in, Louie Moulden (Manchester City) was an U23 trialist in goal for us against Everton on 30th January and Joshua Chapman played three games for our U18s as a trialist, two in March against Manchester City and Stoke City, plus the last game of the season against Burnley on 8th May.
