It was all right here, on my doorstep. A thrupenny bit bus ride away then, a 30 min stroll away nowadays. So easy, so unremarkable. So taken for granted.
Travelled to Derby from Crewe by train in my teens in the early 70s.
In those days scarfs were the order of the day as opposed to replica tops.
Crewe station used to be full of fans going to see Liverpool/Everton/Stoke/Citeh/Manure. Success was getting onto the train and still have my scarf on me ...

Born in Crewe. Supported home town til late 60s when Dad took me to watch Derby play Bolton in Div2 and the Rams won 5-1.
Loved the BBG, the fans, and the 'beautiful game' being crafted by a talented young manager.
Funny how things have changed coz Crewe now play sexy football and have a brilliant manager ...

Just picking up on the point about Leeds being United behind their club.
One of me fellow dog-walkers is a Leeds fan and teaches at the local school. He is very knowledgeable on football matters, and there is a good banter between the two of us.
Spoke to him regarding our current position, and he said that Leeds have had some "dodgy" owners in the past, but now they are being run properly. The consequence of that is that the whole club is in a much better place now.
Hopefully we get a new owner who can take us down a similar route. It is going to take time, but it will be worth it ...

it is in nobodies business to not come to an agreement on #1 otherwise Derby and Wycombe will be playing the same opponent on the first day. Because the EFL have produced 2 separate fixture lists apparently then it will encourage Wycombe to sue if the LAP decide n a points penalty by effectively from 21/22. The sensible answer is that the LAP will agree on a fine and maybe increase it a bit. Throughout this it will be ironic (understatement) if our restated figs do not breach the rules though
Perhaps on the opening day of the season, we had better have two teams at the two possible fixtures, just in case ...

3. Norwich - 20.61
4. Stoke - 19.42
5. Watford - 18.25Others you listed: Barnsley (8th), Brentford (11th), Forest (14th), Millwall (21st)
Percentage of minutes to academy graduates:
1. Reading - 31.95
2. Derby 22.55

4. Boro - 18.59
5. Norwich - 17.14Others you listed: Barnsley (14th), Brentford (=21), Forest (10th), Millwall (17th)
Probably puts a completely different spin on the academy than that Twitter post you found.
Cheers - I will amend my end-of-term report accordingly !!
Norwich in top 5 in both your examples - they didn't do too bad ...

The top 3 in the pop charts in 1971 were ...
1 Diana Ross - I'm still waiting
2 The New Seekers - Never ending song of love
3 T.Rex - Get it on (No1 previous week)
