Fair play to you . But what about fans who could take kids to their first game ?Don’t  let them support City or Liverpool. Our fan base does seem to be ageing rapidly .

Any evidence to back up what appears to be yet more speculation and supposition?
    McGoldrick said the following when he joined Notts;
He said: "It has been a difficult decision for me to leave Derby County, but it has been a huge ambition of mine to play for Notts County again before the end of my career.
"I’ve been honest and open with both Paul Warne and the club about it in recent weeks and they’ve been supportive and understanding.
“If it wasn’t for the fact that I had the chance to return to Notts, it would have been a no-brainer to stay at Derby - regardless of interest from any other club.
"I really enjoyed working under the gaffer and his staff, playing alongside the lads and, of course, performing in front of the brilliant fans at Pride Park. I want to thank everyone for making me feel so welcome in the last year.

"I had a wonderful season with Derby and to score 25 goals and three hat-tricks made it such an enjoyable time, the best in terms of goals for me personally in a season, and actually made the decision such a difficult one.
"I’ve had many conversations with the gaffer over the last few weeks and he really did do everything he could to keep me at Derby but, in the end, I have decided to go with my heart and return to Notts."

Warne clearly has some limitations as a manager, plenty of things that can be articulated and supported with evidence as many posters on here do (some of the regular observations include lack of game time for youth players, one dimensional tactics, a lack of in-game management, using players in unfamiliar positions on the pitch). The unsubstantiated claims about his man-management being a failing in the face of evidence to the contrary isn’t the bold statement you and others seem to think it is.

Aside from all the Rosenior vs Warne discourse (which is pretty boring), anyone else just really pleased that a top bloke who was nothing but brilliant with the fans seems to be doing really well in his career?

It's interesting though that the only teams in L1 who average more crosses per game than us are both above us in the table - Portsmouth and Peterborough, both of whom have a striker(s) who feed off this service. It seems clear that the lack of a comparable available player is currently holding us back, though I also think that we're often sloppy with cut-backs from the by-line which, if executed properly like we saw against Northampton and Crewe could more than compensate for our profligacy from high crosses.

Got so fed up reading this rubbish that I decided to pop over to last year's Round One thread, where people will recall we drew with a team at the bottom of the National League, for a comparison.
Some things don't change, but we had less possession,  many less shots and were much more rubbish than yesterday.
We scored our two goals there very much against the run of play.
A few days later, we drew (lost on penalties) away at Liverpool and all was well again. That's football.

I find all this abuse of Warne at the match heard on the TV coverage and on social media really embarrassing and detrimental to us as a club. I've never know so much ire directed at a Derby manager before in my life. Can we all stop moaning and just support our team? We've been through the mill as a club and some fans need to realise we aren't just going to 'piss the league'. This constant tirade against our manager is really tiring.

Was at the game, think, the telly put on a different game to the one I was watching judging by the hysteria again on here , a good cup tie , defensive errors , lower league club on verge of upset, fight back at the end, dominant display from the Rams , Crewe defended like lions and made it difficult for us but the lads stuck at it and deserved a replay

Well said. To go with the first team's 4 against Northampton, the late two at Crewe today and the U21's four against Manchester City last week. Good that some can still show balanced appreciation.

Can't believe what robots our players are. Can't they think for themselves? Warne told them precisely what to do vs Northampton, they follow his instructions to the letter, and we win easily and play good stuff.
Then for sone reason today, he tells them to play totally differently and we are 2-0 down to Crewe reserves. Thank god Warne woke up in the final 5 mins and told them how to score 2 goals. But, you have to ask, why did Warne tell them the players to keep scuffing their shots for 85 mins plus?
Anyway, the future is bright, our squad is worth a fortune. No group of footballers has ever been able to follow out precise instructions so perfectly. We can sell them each for millions.

Northampton set up completely different to Crewe. A few people pointed out the gaps and space Northampton left at the back, and said not every team will allow us to play like that.
Crewe had 5 on 6 yard line for 90 mins. They set up much better than Northampton, and it exposed our weaknesses. Credit where it's due, they did well.

Never mind Warne's management, how many of our players scuffed shots on goal today? Barks was a big culprit. You can only manage players to a certain extent - they have to be able to kick a football too!!

It's hardly 'tick box' if there is a determined effort to increase diversity across the board by PGMOL. That's a plan.
Tick box is when there is a small concession to appease people whilst largely carrying on as before. Often by appointing someone not good enough to do the job.  That's the illusion of a plan.
Personally I think that good referees should be promoted and drawing attention to the fact that they are good will only encourage new people from more diverse backgrounds to take up refereeing and it become the norm.
I remember when there were comments about Sian Massey-Ellis on here every time she ran the line at our game. Now she doesn't even warrant a mention! She was, of course, very good again on Tuesday night.
Wished all our assistant referees were as good as Sian and referees as good as Rebecca.

It seems to be a trend, and I'd imagine it's for similar reasons that our shirts are sponsored... and the stands within our stadium... and many football stadiums are sponsored... and every other football competition is sponsored... and those kids who play on The Racecourse of a Sunday morn also have sponsored shirts... and our substitutions... and the added time... etc... etc...
... But I'm damned if I can work out why!  👀

It’s not about being happy clappy and if he plays badly in a particular game I have no problem him being criticised.
What I dislike intensely is the way in certain quarters individual players are cast as the ones to kick on a regular basis. It’s destructive it’s a kind of remote bullying. If this was a real playground there’d be a group picking out the likes of Collins, Bradley, Malone for special “attention” They were even on Vydras back for a short while.
Yes there is always a mob

You know that’s just plain wrong. Collins is past his best and in any case was and is a league one striker with all the flaws that entails. BUT One thing Collins does do is get in good positions. I can’t defend the missed chances but you know, he should have played Barks in the other week and got slated. Barks did the same but not a whisper. Not on in my book.
Collo isn’t the answer to “Derby’s No 9” but he is a Ram, he’s our player, he works, turns up and does stuff (did anyone notice the the back flick exchange with NML last night ?

I find the toxicity towards him from some quarters simply loathsome. We had the same over Bradley but he seems to have been forgiven by the mob (for now) The same mob that are wanting to crucify the manager and have zero patience and zero understanding of the meaning of support. Some supporters seem to revel in attacking our own for mistakes, bad luck or whatever other something they can use to focus their puerile attitude to sport.
Pompous ? Angry ? Opinionated ? Yes .. I am guilty of all of them but when a player has our shirt on I back them, I don’t set out to trip them up or rejoice in mishaps. And no .. it isn’t “bants” or a “larf”

Can we not all just enjoy the win and the performance? We can talk about how poor Northampton might have been but I for one have been calling out for entertainment and we got that but rather than enjoying it some still want to dismiss it.
We won, it was good, time will tell if it’s a corner turned or not but enjoy it for what it is.
