There is the possibility that if he does not get signed up by anyone by 1st September he could still come and train with us and we make an assessment say over 4 weeks and if he stays fit for a month sign him up, which we could do outside of the window.

Our midfield would have to be pretty mental for Osborn not be in our starting 11. He is the step above what we have and very solid for the championship.

In all fairness what i have read so far, is people are giving warne credit for doing a job that we was brought into do. Then also just saying to see how good he achually is, is if he can do the next step too many people are just to fast to jump down peoples throats on here! We are all derby all want him to do well but alot of the games our proformances have been questionable, even when we have won games

I have mixed feelings on Warne. He's done well to get us up but let's be honest we were favourites and had in-built advantages. The championship will be a whole different monster and while Warne does have a track record in league 1 he doesn't really have one in the championship. We do need to temper our expectations i think. There's little chance of a tilt at the play offs and survival is the big priority. That might be difficult to take at first...

I think the big issue is recruitment. We were a big pull in league 1 but in the championship we are less so and the squad needs significant additions. Who knows if Warne is the man but we should back him until otherwise.

Think how Warne does in the championship will determine how we rate him in years to come.
Good on him for getting us up. But he’s only achieved what was expected of him. Hoping he continue to keep building and can do what Nigel couldn’t in getting us up to the PL (in due course).

we know PW is an expert at this level, thats why we hired him in the first place. the issue now is he has failed over and over again at the next level, thats a bit of a worry to me but thats all on paper and in different circumstances.

im not warnes biggest fan but i hope he can push us on back to being an established championship team now and he would have done well, i think you can only really judge his ability as a manager based on what we achieve next year because we knew he has league one sussed.

    Not very impressive.
But let's see if he can adapt to the championship. He has quite the record of relegation but hopefully he has learned. That would be more impressive.

    Hi all,
I just wanted to pop on and say congrats on a successful season and well deserved promotion. I know there's been some ill feeling between fans, mostly on the toxic social media platforms (not helped by a large number of idiots of which we at Bolton have f****** loads). I've scanned through your forum and a few others to regularly to check in on the thoughts of some of our promotion rivals over the season and as forums go, this one is generally positive and full of good and honest opinions. We have another fan called Wanderlust who often peruses the various forums and I feel he is a good fan for honest opinions too. I hope we can join you, I'm sure there's plenty of you hoping we stumble and end up stuck in L1 for at least another year, mainly for the fans who've been making stupid excuses for us not winning points this season. Reality is, you and Pompey were the most consistent teams over the season and thoroughly deserve your promotion, so well done and good luck in the championship next year. With your stadium and fanbase and what your fans have been through (trust me, I know what it feels like too), you deserve some good times now!

All the best gents (and ladies)

Not sure if I am alone in this today but I feel an overwhelming sense of closure after yesterday’s achievement. What a relief to be back in the Championship. But it’s more than that.
It feels like all the hurt over the last couple of years: the administration, the points deductions, the financial turmoil, the humiliation, the relegation; it feels like we can finally turn the page on that sordid chapter of our history. Like we can move on.
I’m not sure why I’m sharing this, but it feels even more personal for me than that, too. In the summer of our relegation, I lost my grandmother to cancer. She was the major connection to Derby for me. My whole ritual of going to the matches involved staying with her for the weekend. For some reason Derby County, the city of Derby, the supporters bus that would pick my Grandad and I up from outside The Gate in Swanwick, the cone of chips before the game, all just seemed to have disappeared.
I know it sounds strange but I feel like I lost my connection to the club in so many ways that summer.
Yesterday, watching everyone celebrating and the tears and David Clowes and Ed Dawe’s’ tears, just felt like closure. The end of the trauma and the start of something new. It felt like moving on.
Thank you, Mr Clowes, for all of that 🐏

There are a lot of fickle of fans amongst our fan group. Once they get a scape goat in there sights that’s it. Bradley has played well for a few games until his moment of madness. Came back into today was superb. Unfortunately like past players like Keogh ect some will never accept him. He’s the next target, very sad tbh.

Funny how 1 game can change an opinion.
He was solid today, 2 goals, a leader and potential captain material.
I doth my cap. There is a player there after all.

No. Pay him a nice fat 'thanks for the promotion' bonus and send him on with our best wishes. He's a good guy and I'd probably enjoy his company, but his football is the polar opposite if what I enjoy watching and I don't think it's good enough for the second tier.
EDIT: Apologies, I misread your post. It's still a no. If we don't go up he has, by his own admission, failed. Position untenable.

Whatever Clowes has done, and we're eternally grateful for what that, the appointment of Warne felt strange but it's looking to be awful. While tonight was grim, it wasn't particularly out of character or surprising, it was utterly predictable. Promotion or not, he's not the future
