I have to disagree! We are not supposed to be a "competitive Championship club".
We have the 15th largest capacity stadium, and last season, despite being in League 1, we apparently had the 20th highest average attendance in the country.
We should be a Premier League club, perhaps bouncing up and down a bit [because we hate Forest].

People talk a lot about Warne's three promotions with Rotherham.
It was three because they were relegated twice under him immediately afterwards. That often seems to be overlooked.

Said before... Seems a nice enough guy but I don't think he's the right manager for our club. I'm far from convinced by his tactics and team selection.

You see I think exactly the opposite.
They have a well thought out plan, involving not just a new manager but a reworking of the Academy. When it becomes apparent that their choice has not worked out then they don't throw away the whole plan, they re-choose a manager who can put the plan into effect.

The main reason for keeping someone should never be the fear of what happens if you don't.

Why not? How does staying with a wrong decision make that right. Nor does it mean that another decision will be wrong.

A small squad by choice. Warne thought Collins and McGoldrick would be enough to see us through the season. He also chose not to spread the minutes around between more of the players in the squad (Rooney and Thompson), including the two players he did choose to sign in January (White and Springett). Nor did he use any U21s, despite several having Championship experience for the club. His team selection also resulted in our 3rd choice CF being recalled, and sold a promising (albeit injury prone) forwardwho could have helped lighten the load for our aging forwards.

We all thought that we'd be signing players in Warne's 23-28 age bracket or whatever it was, not more old stagers with nowhere left to go (other than Waggy who is now a snip!).
