Rooney like many of us makes some rather stupid judgement calls when mullered.
In the past he was reigned in by a strong manager who was able to tune him but even SIr Alex wasn’t able to curb this weakness that has plagued his personal life.
But who is to hold Rooney the boss in check?
He’s clearly on the pop and has piled the weight on. I don’t see him as an example of the modern professional like Lampard or Cocu. So what does he bring to the table. Motivationally in the most trying of times he was able to pick up 1 draw in our last seven games then have to audacity to hail survival as success.
He’s getting a free pass by many because of the turmoil surrounding the club and the thinking is that changing the manager now will add further uncertainty.
I completely see that viewpoint and indeed at this moment in time see it as a sensible option, but he has to put results together straight away to change my view that he is not the leader he thinks he is.

Things to take from today's game...
Defence: sign Jags and/or Davies and that's a solid back line for the year. Cashin has the physical attributes to play and I'd expect playing alongside the older heads he'll only improve.
Midfield: Hutchinson looks a tidy player, Watson to grow into the role. Signing Carroll and/or Ravel and our midfield is probably as strong as it has been for a few years.
Forwards: absolutely crying out for a hold up striker. Stretton looks good but he'll play alongside CKR rather than instead of. Need a player for the number 9 role desperately as CKR won't be able to play a 46+ game season. Wingers seem pretty well stacked perhaps with the addition of Aluko.
If it's true we can only sign four players then two defenders/one midfielder and one attacker might just be enough to keep us up this year. Realistically 6-8 signings are probably needed to be mid-table.

    Second question was:
    2) Will everything that is discussed in this meeting be made public to all Derby County supporters, or will NDAs be put in place to prevent this?

I dont want to go too early but Cashin is better than Maldini, Bobby Moore and Igor all rolled into one.

If he keeps it up he could be the new Sibley in our managers mind.
He's probably pencilling him in for the vital last 6 minutes of one of our first 6 games as we speak.... ?

Born in Yeovil to parents who were born and raised in Yeovil as were their parents before them......
Father moved us up to Chellaston in 1965 (age 2) through work whereupon my Yeovil born and bred mother was so overcome with the emotion of the place she packed her bags and left for Aus with some random pick up and we haven't heard from her since.
Father meanwhile met a girl at Rolls Royce whose father was part of the boot room staff at DCFC at the baseball ground. They were married in 1970 and moved us all to Belper. The folks are still there.
Got a few tours of the dressing room in the early 70s. Stepmothers dad sadly died young in 1973 but our links to dcfc grew out of that relationship.
I haven't lived there since the mid 1980s and we've been in South Hampshire since 91. But still get to games where I can and drag junior along as well.

Would love to see the young lads play an absolute blinder today, especially Cashin.
Imagine if (part of) the solution to our CB problem was under our noses the whole time ?

Just remember to stay safe everyone today.
Maintain social distancing from any natives of Nottingham and sanitize religiously whilst you are there, wash properly on your return and consider inceneration of all articles of clothing that may have become contaminated.
More of a Nottingham thing than a covid thing at this point, but good disease control measures are still applicable.

Great stories here, brilliant sunday reading!
I was born in Finland, and I still live here. I’ve been a football fan since I was a small kid, but I never found a team of my own. I tried Ajax while living in Amsterdam, but it didn’t stick (even though this was in the mid 90’s with Litmanen etc) and later Malaga in the early 00’s.
Then about ten years later in 2011 something beautiful happened. My girlfriend at the time got an opportunity to study abroad for a year and she wanted to go to the UK. There were three universities to choose from if I recall correctly: Leicester, Swansea and Derby. She chose Derby…
Fortunately I was able to follow her to Derby a bit later. We found a nice apartment at Charnwood Street and ended up living there for a year. I started to listen to Derby’s games on radio and watched all televised games. I remember being in The Neptune when Steve Davies broke his skull.
Then in December we went to Pride Park for the first time, and I was sold. Derby vs Leeds, 1-0. Jamie Ward scored but especially I remember how good Barker-Shackell partnership was.
So, finally I found my own team and I’ve been supporting the Rams ever since. I haven’t been to Derby after 2012 but hopefully this will be fixed sooner than later. I’ve been subscribing Rams TV from the beginning and even with the recent price hike it’s well worth the money.
I wonder if the are some other Rams supporters here in Tampere area ..?

I met my grandfather once before he died. He was a engineer at RR. I have a auntie in her 90’s who was the First Lady Mayoress of Derby and have met cousins from Derby and Inverness so it’s been all good. Caught up over half a dozen times now. We were supposed to move over last October but COVID ducked that up. Dad ended up being a pretty good athlete playing Aussie rules for Geelong in the VFL. It’s funny for someone born in Central Queensland that I feel so at home when I go to Derby.

Born and bred in Ilkeston where I lived until the late 80's before starting my career and moving to staffs.
Met my wife in Staffordshire so I'm still living there together with our son but it's only a 40 minute drive to pride park thankfully.
I've been a rams fan since I was about five and my uncle used to take me to the baseball ground.
I always loved playing football and one day whilst playing on Victoria park in Ilkeston we were scouted as a group by a chap who was after players for the Ilkeston branch of the junior rams so I played for them as centre forward for the next 3 or 4 years and played at the bbg twice a I recall.
Whilst I always followed the rams I really started going back in the 2014 Mac era when the football being played reignited my passion and I've been a regular ever since.
Finally bought our first season ticket in 2019 after I retired from my career and the endless world of shift work and could actually now make just about every home game.
My poor lad was obviously indoctrinated by me despite all of his mum's family being wolves fans and nearly found himself in a sticky situation at the weekend when he and a fellow young ram started singing the dcfc chant at 2am in a Stafford nightclub.
    Quite proud of that though?

Born in Mundubbera Queensland, dad was born in Derby but his mother abandoned him aged 2, and his brother while their father was fighting in WW2. They were put into a orphanage but when that was bombed they were sent to an orphanage outside of Melbourne. They were told they had no family in the UK. First heard of DCFC when they won the title in 75 and dad said that was where he was born. First went over to the UK in 2006 to start looking for relatives in Derby but as it was usually summer never got to a game. We moved over and worked out of London in 2014 and went to a Fulham  away game and got hooked with the atmosphere. Craziest time was flying over for 6 days for the Villa final.

That makes at least 2 of us then, I.E.
Born & bred in Derby.  Went to my first game with my Dad and my Grandad, who was a steward at the BBG.  That was 54 years ago.  Spent most of my adult life down South, where my kids were born and still live but made sure to bring them up in the proper way.  In fact, my son has forgotten more than I will ever know about the recent crop of players to grace the black & white shirts (of which he has at least 30 different ones).  I returned to Leicestershire to be nearer God's country some 8 years ago.  Now I have a grandaughter, I'm hoping we can recreate the 3 generation experience - but with me as the old fart!  COYR!

Was born in reading … not a million miles away from the old elm park
Born in Matlock Dad was stalwart Derby and it was only a matter or time before he migrated us back up towards the midlands .. unfortunately for me we only stopped back in Derby for a couple of years due to a bad house move so ended up in Nottingham but that didn’t stop me following him around the country watching my now beloved rams
sadly now it’s a journey I have to carry on alone
still never forget those early years back in the late eighties standing on a milk crate in the popside then the ritual of waiting no matter the weather for the green paper
    happy days
