I think it would offer a good opportunity to finally have a written constitution and a bill of rights!
I despise them, what they stand for and everything they have done throughout history to trample on the labouring classes.

sawley_ram reacted to Day in Vote for Derby to be named the home of Great British Railways (GBR)
Derby has taken a step closer in its bid to become the new home of Great British Railways (GBR).
The city is one of six locations to be shortlisted from 42 expressions of interest across the UK. The chosen city will become the HQ for the new organisation which has been created to deliver a simpler, better railway for everyone in Britain. The other shortlisted cities are Birmingham, Crewe, Doncaster, Newcastle and York.
Bringing GBR to Derby would be extremely beneficial for the region and would help to level up the area, which is why we’ve badged our bid and campaign as the ‘East Midlands’ vote. The winning location will also see the move of highly skilled jobs and investment outside of London into our region.
Why we believe that Derby and the East Midlands is the perfect choice for GBR:
One of the first great British railway towns The only city to have manufactured rolling stock continuously since 1840 The East Midlands is the geographic and strategic heart of Britain’s railway Home to Europe’s largest cluster of private-sector rail businesses A centre of railway skills with over 11,000 highly-skilled rail employees based in the Derby area and 45,000 rail-related jobs across the East Midlands During the bidding process we reached out to Local Authorities across the East Midlands and received backing from Derbyshire, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, Leicester and Leicestershire, alongside 21 MPs from across the region. We now need your help to spread the word and help Derby and the East Midlands become the new home for GBR.
Please help us by sharing our campaign with your colleagues, stakeholders, friends and family and ask them to vote for Derby!
    How can you help
You can visit the Destination Derby website to learn more about the campaign and access our online toolkit for photos, logos and social media graphics.
We’ll be sharing messaging through the Derby City Council Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook pages throughout the campaign and public vote.

Please help to share these messages using #DerbyGBR and the national campaign #DestinationGBR or by sharing your own messages of support.

Hs is a North Stand Season Ticket Holder. Not a Corporate Box, Not a Directors Box, Not a West Stand ticket holder - he sits in the North Stand despite his wealth.
That shows me everything I need to know about him. It's not about fame or limelight unlike others.

Man claims money has been sent but the delay is anti money laundering check.
    Money never does arrive.
    Logically there are two options.
    A, it was never sent.
B, it failed the anti money laundering check.
Whichever was the case, was that really someone we wanted owning our club?

They have overall losses of 202 million pounds over recent years and a wage bill of 38 million quid recently, so I'd argue they've chased it pretty hard.

My Great Grandparents used to own the chippy on the corner of Beaufort Street and Nottingham Road until the '80s, they used to sell wrapped chips people would tuck down the front of their jackets and smuggle into the ground. Warmth and nice food when you get there!

Thank you for including the county! Absolutely love the coverage and focus we've been getting but to the untrained eye you might think DCFC stood for Derby City Football Club.

Well I've had some say they were world champions in 1979 and 1980, but there were no world cups then ?
If we count the top flight from 1888 to present day, Derby have had 65 seasons up there vs their 56. We've also scored more goals and had more titles while up there.

Anyone read the first post on LTFT's Derby matchday thread? Poster sounds like the kid who would collect Pokemon cards and think his collection is better than anyone elses'.
He's also a little deluded on his history, but hilariously he's stated that "Derby hold the world record for the lowest ever Premiership points tally". The current tally for Premiership points put Derby County at 274 points and forest's at 239 points.

Absolutely incredible show for a Sunday afternoon game on tele, and testament to the level of support this club has in Derby and Derbyshire. For season after season we have consistently been the best supported club in the Championship and our attendances (despite so many factors in and out of the club) are still way up there amongst the top.
Clubs like Notts Forrest like to claim how good and great they are, but look at their home attendances when they were in L1 -- some of their home attendances were regularly hovering around 16k. I like comparing that to games like this, or when we were getting tonked week in week out in the 07-08 season, yet still bringing crowds of 30k every time (more than half the clubs Premiership at the time!)

Quiet afternoon at work... just counted 533 tickets left (on the DCFC home ticket page). I reckon all of those will be gone in the next 24 hours. Our fans are doing this to make a statement and what a massive statement we are making.

Well. I'm speechless. He's turned down his boyhood club, who themselves are in a relegation battle and desperately need help.
In fact, I'm not speechless, I'm just struggling to find the right words to pour my love out for the bloke on the internet.
Incredible show of loyalty, absolutely incredible. This guy deserves 100% backing from EVERY Derby fan now, without exception.
What he has done this week is truly astonishing.
    A Premier League job interview.
    His boyhood club.
No thanks, I have a job to do here.
Wayne Rooney, you sir are a legend and I'm stone cold sober saying this.

As I posted recently, DCFC Averaged 25,000 plus for 12 seasons since 2000  in this division. Forest once in 20 seasons. Derby have a strong following without question. This season we have had covid, administration, plus ticket sales debacle - notice the gates have increased recently. The support is there. So is the debt unfortunately!

Assume aim of march is publicity? So whoever leads singing esp as we get towards the ground needs to ensure we are not singing **** the efl or that gibson song or it wont be shown on anything and we shoot ourselves in foot

I'm completely opposite. Given our situation at the moment, plus our recent form, us clearly proving many wrong on the pitch and the constant goading I've had off the gumps all day at work, I'm well up for this. I had thought in previous years leading up to now it's had less and less importance, but this time it feels different. Plus as others have said a chance to get 5 points from safety.
