There’s a rumour that the EFL are going to hit them hard with a 20 minute transfer embargo for this.

Even 500k is a no brainer for me. We're crying out for another winger. NML on one side, CBT on the other. There wouldn't be much better in this league.
Now we know that the bid wasn't today, but last week. Makes me think that we're close.
If they didn't want to sell him and we were miles apart on a fee, he would have played today. The fact he hasn't means we're close and they want to cash in now.

We never seem to step up and embrace the pressure of these moments. Instead in the past we have shrunk from them. Today there were wins for Barnsley, Oxford, Peterborough and Stevenage. We're at home against a team low in the table. To remain on track, we also have to win or we will have fallen back into the pack. If we are victorious, I think it will indicate something of a turning point in the mentality of the squad - that we are not afraid of fully entering the promotion battle. And it would be amazing if we were to move into second spot as our reward. I'm intrigued to see how the players react and if they will seize the day. This should be their time.

Guessing you have a great sense of humour. It’s called having a laugh and talking through topics while not much has going on. Would you rather I reference a bit more doom and gloom instead. Charlton are showing some ambition?
Their last set of accounts for 21/22 season show costs of twice their turnover, with an operating loss of around £10 million. This year's spending spree would suggest the losses will only increase. Does that mean that we were just showing ambition under MM?

If we don't add at least 2 good players we won't finish top 2. I'd suggest 3 or 4 to be favourites.
I would add that if we add no one good and any 2 of Nelson, Cashin, Bird, Hourihane, NML or Collins got a long term injury we could easily miss out on the top 6.  

Same for both teams though and Bradford are performing better on it than us so far.

I don’t understand where this idea of overpaying is coming from
I understand everyone’s very keen to avoid the mistakes of the past but surely what we’re actually trying to avoid is the Nick Blackman signing. A so-so player bought off the back of a purple patch, with years left on his deal and to satisfy a manager who knew him personally (only to be sacked almost immediately after, which won’t be happening to Warne)
He’s a talented player in his prime, at 26 he will have resale value, and only has six months left on his contract so will cost less than what he would do with e.g. three years left on his contract
Surely Blackett-Taylor won’t be overpriced because you’d hypothetically be able to sell him for more money this summer? Once you sign him, he’s immediately worth more than what you paid for him
By all accounts, he’s a player who has championship clubs interested so could be worth much more in the best case scenario where he helps us get promoted and gets a season in the championship with Derby under his belt
We also have one standout winger available in NML and no one fully claiming the other spot. Without factoring money into it, this looks like a sure fire way to improve the starting XI for a team chasing the automatics. It also lessens the catastrophic NML injury scenario that, IMO, is currently our most worrying “what if”
I’m unfortunately getting my hopes up on this one, seems like a doozy if we can pull it off and the sort of smart business we’ve rarely seen this past decade. Now I’ve said that, we’ll probably see him grinning next to a Huddersfield Town shirt this time next week
