  1. Im going to be honest and im NO Mclaren fan , far to over rated and a bloody traitor .

Butttttttttttttttttt sack rooney now ( clear the decks mel its do or die next week )  , employ Mclaren for the last match . Should we still go down a brand new manager and NOOOOOOOOOO not Mclaren !! .

We need a boring ive not heard of him much name who has got teams out of div 3 , pray to god alonso still wants to take this shambles over , because without investment i dread to think where we are heading .

  2. I really dont get why fans are optimistic , rotherham are down forget them  .its sheffield that's the problem , they will best forest and we all know why.......I mean come on really .........you expect forest to play out there skins really as sheff wed will really come at them . Then your relying on us to beat Swansea away lol and then have the bottle and guile to out do Wednesday.........not a chance , when have they showed any of this in past 12 games . Where gone accept it . The important question is Alonso going to take us over still once relegated ??????

    Totally wrong.

Byrne and Marshall are not “taking us down” but they may be part of the team that goes down.

Besides, whilst there have of course been sloppy goals conceded and individual errors throughout the team, surely the primary reason for our predicament is our failings in attack rather than defence?

In my opinion, Byrne has been a very good signing and certainly not a player I’d want to get rid of. What’s the phrase? “Don’t throw the baby out with the bath water”

Im not singling these 2 out it might seem that i am but im not honestly .

But on yesterday we did take the lead and fail to hold on , so you could say yesterday attack did its job couldnt you .

The thing i hate is we obviously signed these 2 because they were cheap but they also came with the negative mindset of coming from a relegation team . These 2 have not known much else recently in league games and eventually it must get to you , also morris plan of play youngsters is fine in a more successfull side but i believe now its hugely damaging to them , if the youngsters were not going to be complimented by some older expensive quality signings then playing youngster back fires esp in a relegation side . Before someone says rooney as an expensive older player i dont mean players in  their pension years with walking sticks that are slighlty over weight and might score a wordly free kick now and again , i mean players with quality who last 90 mins running their legs off .

  4. One more thing to add

    Wigans RELEGATION side

    We sign Marshall and Bryne

Some may argue these players are great produced plenty of positive performances blah blah blah .

The fact remains they make nearly 50% of our defence and took wigan down , OH LOOK there now taking Derby down as well ...........brilliant signings just brilliant .

Get rid of the whole lot of them bar a few of the youngsters that should not be playing in and around a relegation scrap and start again in div 3 .

Having been born just as we were having our glory years, I too fall into the category of growing up as a Rams fan in the 80's. Those were my glory years!

I may too have rose tinted glasses, and think that spending a couple of years in the third tier might be fun. But I was a teenager then, travelling to every away ground on the football special trains, standing on the popside for all home games. It was brilliant!

    But football moves on.

However, there is a generation of fans out there that have never really seen much success as Rams fans. Yes, we've flirted with success, we got to the promised land once only to become the laughing stock of the English game. We've had Wembley play off heartbreak. We're had Mac 1 and Mac 2. But overall it's been 20 odd years of underwhelming mediocrity.

Going down wouldn't be the end of the world.

For a start, we could begin to rid the club of the constant negativity and bad press. A year or two out of the headlines might do us some good. Everyone hates us now, so a reset wouldn't be a bad thing.

We'd still be in business despite what people say. We've been closer to going out of business before (I remember that as well) but we're still here, and still a big club. That will never change.

Win a few games, and the crowds would creep back up again. We might even start to attract the next generation of fans, because we can't be attracting many new ones at the moment!

Let the overpaid and over hyped players leave. Bring in some fresh hungry players that would see playing for Derby as a step up, rather than a pay-cheque.

So if we do go down, let's see it as an opportunity.

I'm worried that if we somehow stay up, we'll be in the same position again this time next year!

Exactly my point , i think its easier to regroup in lower division and it forcefully ejects the over paid plonkers we have that just turn up and play for one game ( im not naming names ) .

  6. Personally , the only time i was a season ticket holder was in the 3rd division , and i remember trevor cool as custard christie scoring that NEVER WAS A PENALTY , the goal posts must have looked only 2 foot wide the pressure that was on that penalty.

I think a spell in the old 3rd division will not be as bad as you think , the club needs to get some  confidence and a winning mentality back and we need to have a clear out of players like lawrence, joziak yes that new polish winger , waghorn , kazim ( yes kazim ) . We need a whole new side .

As long as the investment comes in , he has signed the papers and alonso isnt a fool he knows we are likley to go down , if he has come with the attitude of so what we take another year . Yes all other clubs will look at us as their cup final but we should still get back up deffo within 2 years . The key point is we need to rebuild , you cant just magic a complete change around and a change in attitude in a few weeks and i think it will be easier to do in a division lower .

If alonso backs out and others do to, this then could be a massive and utter disaster that sees us sink for along time but hopefully we should know where we stand on investment by the end of next week surely .

Back to this season ..........Any club that doesnt have a proper strike force and hasnt been given sufficient funds to get one and really we needed 2 DESERVES to go down . You cant blame rooney he has had nothing but crap to deal with as is first start to being a manager and i think starting in div 3 with alonso's money might be a good start for him , i wouldnt sack rooney im afraid not yet .

P.s If you think about it both losses to rotherham and sheff wed should already be above us on points achieved this season and the lack of proper young inform strikers being on the books .WE DONT DESERVE TO STAY UP .

Roll on div 3 as thats whats needed and thats what we are going to get , im just hoping alonso wants division 3 as well ( fingers crossed ) .

  7. Whats all this rubbish about that alonso has spoken to cardiff , he did speak to them they have confirmed that but never got into serious discussions . So the bloke is telling the absolute truth .

Im getting sick of this . It looks like to me we have finally got someone young and vibrant taking over the club and alot of people are jealous , and a few Derby fans are irrritated as well as they dont have an excuse to moan .There seems to be a campaign to make this bloke look bad . Jealousy springs to mind to me .

The bloke has done nothing wrong at all so at the moment im fully behind him and find its bloody brilliant that it looks like we will have funds again

You mean you don't want to know who is actually funding the club going forward? You're perfectly happy to have some mystery owners we know absolutely nothing about?

Personally, I'd be running a million miles from this guy- he's got no record of actually running any clubs outside of Indonesia (where he wasn't listed on the website for the one club he's a director) his 'sports agency' has no functioning website and reportedly only has a few small clients and he reportedly has some very dodgy political associations. The only club he's been involved with in this country he was essentially fired from to put it bluntly for false promises and going above his paygrade.

Given Mel's desire to sell up seemingly to anyone who can cobble together some evidence of the fee required to take on the club I'm not putting much stock in his judgement. This bloke screams mendacious charlatan if you ask me and I'm very nervous about this.

I wonder if Leicester fans wanted to know this before they won the premier league . Jesus some folks are never happy .

Out of interest, why do you think it seems "a dream deal"? There's very little in the public domain about how the deal is structured, what funds will be made available, future strategy, etc. I'm genuinely interested in how you've come to such a positive conclusion given the lack of information at hand.

I'm genuinely interested about the facts that say this deal is nothing to get excited about or the bloke is a bad un . It all seems just puffs of smoke and nothing concrete . Your own question right back at you , I'm waiting for a reply ??????. Like I've said people seem determined to be well miserable , I think Derby fans have become so use to bad news they actually want it . Think their are alot of Stockholm syndrome Derby fans on here determined not to be positive or crack a smile .

  10. I really dont understand all the negativity at all . This to me seems like a dream deal and I for one am pretty excited about it . It seems like some Derby fans are unable to let go if being wellllllll down right bloody miserable and think of the likes of Norwich and Bournemouth and brentford as big clubs . This could well be the chance of bringing in someone young full of cockiness and bouncing us up to the premier where we do actually belong . I remember another young cocky bloke his name was Brian clough .

  11. Why all the bad comments about Alonso , just because he was part of sheff wed and tried to take them over on the cheap but got knocked back by chansri doesnt mean anything . Is there more to it than this or something else other than that as for me I welcome it at the moment . The arabs had failed twice before and I can see a reason for not wanting them but Alonso why the hate plz ????

  12. Might just be cynical old me , but where suppose to know who we want and have put in bids , yet there are no proper rumours coming out and that is never usually the case , unless rooney has become the scarlett pimpernell . I have this awful feeling that as rams fans we are being strung along and no one of any note is coming at all . Mark my words .

  13. Its a shame we wont get to see him , also you have to feel that the current mess we are in wont endear him to him staying .

But if he has to go i would like to know what future sell on clauses or potential extras we are likely to get before being happy about it .

  14. Christ give this a bloody rest I mean jesus mac fing 3 , while were at it let's have clough mk 2 with money , phil brown mk2 , Clement mk2 . Get over it !!!!!!!!  And let him keep his damn brollies parked at newcastle and some of you remember that . Let's have Billy it should have been Preston mk2 .

Good god move on to a new bloody chapter , some of you are like goldfish swimming round and around .............keep on swimming keep on swimming .
