I had a season ticket for 30 years until I moved to the US. I followed Derby home and away and have stood on terraces with a handful of other Rams fans in the days in the old second division when we had nothing like the away support we have now. And home games dipped under 10k. I put on bus trips many times from Matlock and I was as loyal as pretty much anybody on this board.

I now live in western Cornwall, and getting back for games is very difficult. Not least because the number of painkillers I have to take because I get sciatica when driving for more than an hour, is verging on suicidal.

I freely admit I'd not want to put myself through the pain and discomfort of driving 6 or 7 hours each way for a meaningless game, so if that means 'sunshine supporter' to you, so be it. But I'm relaxed in the knowledge that I've put in my time and spent tens of thousands of pounds watching Derby on 70 different league grounds.

As for why I didn't buy one 4 weeks ago. That was because I had to make a choice of coming up for the Orient game or the last game, and as it was a mate's birthday this last weekend and my wedding anniversary on Saturday, we rolled the dice.

s***, I'd not thought of that.
If anybody does have a ticket, can I please let you know at halftime of the Carlisle match if I want to come in?

I'd love one too. Drove up from Cornwall for this weekends thinking that would be it until next season. But Mrs Badger has agreed to cover all our dog bases if I can get a ticket.
Happy to pay a convenience fee on top of the ticket price and throw in a Doberman or two.

Bob The Badger reacted to Normanton Lad in The Real Brian Clough
There are always exceptions to everything, but Clough's methods would not work on men as old as him. Just as a thought experiment imagine that Jack Charlton had still been at Leeds when Clough took over - he left a year earlier. What do you think he would have done when Clough told the Leeds players they can chuck their medals in the bin? Big Jack would probably have punched Clough. Jack was not much older than players like Giles, Bremner and Cooper. They had seen it all and they would not put up with Clough's abrasive managerial style. Dave Mackay was older than Clough and Clough knew he couldn't talk to Mackay in the same way he talked to the other players.

    If carlsberg did season ends.
southampton beat Leicester and Leeds to sneak into the top two at their expense. Coventry or someone win the play offs. Leicester and Leeds both get smashed with massive points deductions.
meanwhile, Forest scrape into 17th by a point, but loose there appeal and have 2pts taken off for a spurious appeal. And get smashed with more points deductions next season for good measure. Forest, Leeds and Leicester as good as down already, might as well call off the relegation (only problem is that boro can’t go with them).
oo, boro have a terrible last few games of the season and go down from the championship with Rotherham and Birmingham.
we of course win all of our last three games, while Portsmouth loose all theirs, and we go up as champions. Ready for a back to back push riding the waves of positivity.

You could always wait until after we get inexplicably battered by Cambridge and see if there are some tickets suddenly coming available... 😩

Me and @Eatonram always referred to him as Shirker. His injury went on for ever. Very good player on his day though.

I'm not sure that's true at all, mate.
Having said that, I do think we'd be up by now if it wasn't for Steve Cherry's poor goalkeeping.

I only found out, courtesy of a Radio 5 programme yesterday that Nottingham was originally called Snotengaham.
Around 600 AD, the Snotingas gave their name to the settlements of Nottingham, which were first recorded as 'Snotengaham' or literally 'the homestead of Snot's people. ' Over the years, the city's name was gradually modified until it became known as Nottingham around the 12th century.
How fabulous! I think we should start a petition to have it returned to its much more appropriate and traditional name.

I'm up from Cornwall, and @Eatonram got me a ticket, not knowing a mate had a spare one.
    It's in South East corner.
    £12.
But we won't pay you a penny more.
Welcome to call me on 07761 143 477
BTW, I thought there was a ticket thread but couldn't see it, so apologies if I'm breaking some rules and feel free to delete.
