Surely it’s close to being untenable now, the football is utterly dire…

Unfortunately can’t see him going anywhere.
He will get Tuesday night and win, then get another few games.
This season is a write off unless he’s gone next week.

I've been super-critical of the deliberate tactic to NOT play through midfield - something PW stated in one of his interviews recently.
I sense last night's set up and approach, which saw us play more through midfield in the first 2 minutes than in the first 45 on Saturday, was something of a job-saving change of tack by PW.
Does he really believe in that style of play? I hope so because at this level we're very good at it, we'll win more games and it was good to watch.
I don't really get the negativity towards Hourihane - him and Bird were excellent last night and if they are allowed to play through midfield and these two stay fit we'll do well.
Exeter were as good as we allowed them to be. If we'd played with that deliberate play-through-midfield approach on Saturday I strongly suspect we'd have a forum full of posters saying how crap Shrewsbury were.
As for the Collins pile on....yes, he was poor last night and he should have laid off that ball to Barks but, if he had a fiver for every decent run that wasn't noticed or was ignored, he'd be sat on a yacht somewhere.
How many high, long balls against monster defenders did Waggy have to deal with last night......none? How many did Collins have to deal with on Saturday...plenty? I'm one of the few that sees value in Collins in the right team with the right set up but, if playing a shorter CF means we stop lump ball, I'd happily go with Waggy as the CF even though I think Collins is better in that role.
Saturday was rubbish. Last night was very enjoyable because of a deliberate decision to play proper football. Fingers crossed it continues.

Well, what a shitshow that was from us. I don’t know what’s happened to us but we were awful from minute 1 to minute 95. I thought you looked like a side low on confidence but who actually played quite well, you pressed us well and had done your homework to know that’s all you need to do. The personality we showed at the start of the season has disappeared, we’re in real trouble and should have lost by more.
Was impressed with your fans, after Shrewsbury I thought you might have been more negative but the South Stand were positive throughout, lots of supportive chants. You were a bit quiet considering you were 2-0 up, but that’s understandable after recent results. I also thought the ref was excellent.
No bright spots for us City fans I’m afraid, other than Demi Mitchell who will leave in January no doubt. A mini-slump has quickly turned into a relegation battle and none of us can work out why. We’re capable of being much better than last night but you wouldn’t think that. Calling us poor, inept and crap is actually kind, we were worse than that.
Anyway, good luck for the season, hope you go up. Despite singing ‘How s*** must you be, you’re still in league one’ last night, I hope you get promoted, your club is better than this.

Maybe it’s because of his age, but why is Waghorn not starting every game? I think he’s superior to Collins in every department. Even heading and pace

Ok performance, Bird stands out like a beacon in this team currently so make the most of him before January comes.
Great to hear Chris Coles on Radio Derby reminds me of what a fine broadcaster he is.Also how much better the programme is without Ed Dawes.

We are the biggest club in this division, have the best training facilities, best squad, best stadium, biggest fanbase, one of, if not the biggest wage budget, etc, etc.

Quite simply, we can beat teams that try and win the game against us, but we struggle against teams that are happy to take a point. I guess Paul Warne has never had to deal with this as his experience is at Rotherham, a team that everybody tries to beat. Against Derby in league 1, a point is always seen as a good result, whether that's home or away.
So unless he can work out a way to change this it's hard to see how he can turn results around.
Maybe he's the wrong man at the wrong club, it happens.

Credit Hourihane for having some bottle. He epitomises the bits and pieces squad we have. Some relatively good athletes who are not good on the ball (Smith, Fornah etc) and some good players who aren’t athletic enough (Hourihane, Bird, Thompson). And too many that are neither (Cashin, Collins, Waghorn). The squad is nowhere near as good as some folks think, and the academy delivers what exactly ? I would argue no more than other L1 clubs. With a limited budget that is a tough job for anyone, but I’d still expect more than Warne can conjure.
It’s ready made for someone who can squeeze something out of nothing. We may need to make plans for Nigel.

When you look at other teams getting there management recruitment spot on I do find myself somewhat envious
It didn’t need to be a so called L1 specialist to get us out of this crap division …just needed a manager to get what Liam had recruited playing cohesively with a few different plans
Leicester recruited a manager from city’s back room staff and watching there highlights this season in pains me to say they will walk the championship he is not a championship expert but knows how to play football and keep the ball …
not arrogance or entitlement at all but we should be the Leicester in L1 …the team to beat ….but quite simply we aren’t and here lies the problem Warne ( who I like ) will not all of a sudden change his own philosophy on how we play so I don’t see a happy ending
any manager that wants to play decent football on the grass and who can coach some resuits from the touch line is what I’d like to see
so a Eustace , Warburton or any manager that encourages domination of the ball and looking after the ball and getting the best out of our midfielders is my wish and hope Warne finds a more suitable team to manage

You also have to take what Warne says in the press with a pinch of salt, he’s trying to keep his job and stop the players from going under. At this point, I think you can largely ignore what he says in the press as it will be very different to his thoughts and real opinion.

Agreed. I can understand some of it to a point, and don’t want to get into the blame game as to why, just sad that the unity of a couple of years ago feels like such a distant memory.

I’m not commenting on the game. I didn’t watch or listen to it. And that’s the problem Clowes has - I am a season ticket holder and an away member (who can never get a ticket) and yet I couldn’t even summon up the interest to walk into the next room and put the radio on. What are the floating, part-time supporters going to do?

I think we can’t afford, long term, to not sack him as our revenue will be down substantially the way things are going making things even more difficult. I wouldn’t shed a tear to be honest.

Decent win, could and probably should have been more comfortable with more wasteful finishing on show (I know I say that every week right). Good enough overall, shame the young uns didn’t get more opportunity, wonder if they would have without the penalty incident blotting the copy book. Nice of Bradley to let Didzy out of his pocket at fulltime for a catch up with his former team mates 😉

Special mention to Josh Vickers doing the club and his late wife proud tonight 👏

The support, There's a few different kind of supporters for different reasons
Those I used to go with have been going for longer than I did...over 55 years, It's a habit that's hard to break, No promotion and a good half will walk away from 10 ST holders...I gave up at the end of last season.
Then there's those that live a long way away Like yourself... but not all mind, They'll say I'm not fussed anymore it's costing far to much in loot and time for the football that's being served up, Family/friends will come 1st.
Then there's the happy clappers that go as it's a fashion thing and a talking point at work or in the pub.
Expectation is a cruel thing...if those expectations are not met with promotion then it's failure...PW is on record saying if promotion isn't met at the end of this season then I've failed after he said he failed last season, He's admitted to making mistakes...not getting in that striker in January...most likely cost us a play off place
DC looks to be a loyal owner and seems to have a very good relationship with PW...the Fans will play a very big part in the future of DCFC and a Manager that's maybe at a club that is to big for him...this is not little Rotherham...and I'm not saying that out of disrespect to them.
