nickmi16 reacted to MackworthRamIsGod in Kirchner- A risk or a potential reward
Just watching Fyre Festival, The Festival That Never Happened on Netflix.
The main person in it, you would genuinely think it was Kirchner.
It's worth a watch, if nothing else, just to see someone who seems very similar to the Kirch.

I love Wayne Rooney for everything he's done for the club. But all this statute and freedom of the city nonsense is absolutely ridiculous.

I hear they are making a film about a man from Derby who is put cryonic state (frozen) and a Doctor wakes him up in the future, 2072, the first question the man has is "has the PB for Derby County been anounced yet" the Doctor pats his hand reassuringly and says its due to be announced next week.

nickmi16 reacted to Addingham Ram in Mel Morris: an example
Whilst we all appear to agree that Mel's statement was very personal, and aimed squarely at SG, RP / the EFL, and that nobody from WW, surely Mel would not have been so stupid as to not take legal advice before going public.
It came across as a piece that probably took some time to draft, certainly not just a knee jerk reaction to other recent events.
It is possible, like others have said, that Mel has been waiting to step in for some time to allow others to 'show their hands', and has been drafting this statement during that time.
Some of the comments could even be libellous, so if he hadn't taken legal advice, he'd be a bloody fool.

Pleased that Mel has stood up and made this statement....good on him.
We will now to get to see the real aims and ambitions of the EFL and Middlesbrough/Wycombe towards Derby......if they refuse Mel's offer it will be clear to all that what they wanted to achieve all along wasn't justice but the destruction of Derby County.
And if they do go to the high court with Mel,they will be utterly destroyed.
I think Mel's played a blinder here.

Well this is it. The start of the last round of the fight for our survival. The gloves are well and truly off now. EFL have drawn their line in the sand. For Quantuma the only option is to somehow make sure we’ve got enough in the pot to survive the season (maybe this is why they sold Kellyman because the game has clearly changed) and get this through the High Court ASAP. In the meantime MPs Team Derby some of our friends in the media (Colin Murray), our celebrity fans, and the fans protesting, spamming all social media platforms to further bring to everyone’s attention what a spiteful shameless and shambolic organisation the EFL is.
The administrators have come in for a lot of criticism understandably, but tonight’s EFL statement has shown exactly what they are up against.
This now a race against time and it’s all about cash. Whether or not we have enough funding to come out of this triumphant with a bloody nose or we get beaten to death.
We’ll fight to the end! ??????

nickmi16 reacted to BucksRam in Petition to not petition to strip Mel of his CBE
Genuine question as I have no idea how it works but although the fans have paid the £8k (well, £10k actually so far for which a large round of applause is due) I would assume though that DCFC still owe St Johns Ambulance the original £8K so they'll get that as part of the sale deal, so double their money?

nickmi16 reacted to Rev in Ravel Morrison - overrated?
I see this a lot, and of course you're correct that a footballers maximum earning potential is short.
There's nothing to stop them learning a different trade though, and going on to enjoy another career beyond their mid 30's.
Literally everyone else has to re-skill and adapt their career path as they get older, why should footballers be any different?
Did people despair when Charlie George took on a pub, or Kevin Hector became a postman, or Phil Gee and Roger Davies worked for Rolls Royce?
Some of those above were top stars of their day, yet none of them got to retire on their first careers wages.
I'm not knocking the individual here, just the notion that having a entirely average football career should see you earn enough to retire on in your mid 30's.

Standing behind a jet car at the Avon Park drag strip. The noise that thing made as it went down the quarter mile in about 4 seconds was just incredible.
Next best was the noise at the BBG when we played Real Madrid. It could be heard from miles away

Well, this is a bit boring for my 1st post... but what can you do!! Has ayone tried casting from the Rams app? I have watched 2 games on the app and cast them to my Chromecast with no issues whatsoever (it even states that the feed cant be cast in the T&C's) perfect picture with no buffering.
