Are the supporters decrying the style of play, the same supporters tearing their hair out when the goalkeeper or defenders gave a goal away trying to play out from the back?
The style of play wasn't responsible for us losing last night, it was down to the terrible choices of our players in the final third of the pitch, and of course a single mistake from Curtis Davies, who I think incidentally will be out for a while with the injury he picked up. The poor crosses, misplaced passes and inability to beat a player when we the chance to create a goalscoring opportunity were countless last night and that isn't down to style or formations.
Paul Warne may prove to be great or terrible but we aren't the government or Watford, give him enough time for a fair judgement to be made, because a groundswell of negativity this early will definitely not help.

Can't belive that there is a single questioning voice about Paul Warnes appointment now that he is here. I'm stunned by how impatient football supporters are these days, and I despair where this attitude is driving the game.
This is clearly intended to be a long term appointment so the suitability of the current playing squad, who are all on short term deals, is largely irrelevant.
He has only had 3 games so it's impossible to say whether we are better, worse or pretty much the same but I reckon that trying to draw conclusions, and questioning his suitability based on these conclusions can only have a negative impact.
Come on, let's be supporters and SUPPORT. Look what we almost achieved last season by blindly supporting our team regardless of results or circumstances.

There will only be a very small number of our current squad that won't be, either willing or able, to adapt to playing the way that Paul Warne wants them to. The rest will adapt and will embrace that change but need time to do it.
Rather than perpetuating the trend this will actually change the trend. To bring in another manager, or retain LR to play a brand of football that suits the squad, but hasn't yet brought any success, would be as big a risk as bringing in a new manager with different ideas.
Paul Warne deserves the chance to implement his ideas and to even suggest that 3 games is the time to make any judgements, is complete idiocy in my opinion.

I think it's natural to lump all decisions together when such a large percentage of the decisions are wrong but come on, if we're honest Collins was correctly sent off. I don't think he intended to hit the guy, in fact I don't think that he did hit the guy but you can't lie on top of a player, regardless of how you got there, and punch the ground beside his head. It was an aggressive and reckless action that warranted a red.
Clearly this referee is operating way above his ability should allow. He lacked confidence and positivity in almost every decision he made, and you know that you've had a baddun when the opposition manager admits that the decisions went his way.
Unfortunately we are an insignificance these days so there is no point complaining because it won't make any difference. I do love Paul Warnes comment though, he said "I think his integrity is really good and he meant to make the right decisions. But when he watches it back tonight he might think he made some bad decisions".
In my opinion thats how to deal with sh*t refs, dont give them the satisfaction of talking yourself into a fine because publicity and notoriety are the things that some of them crave.

Comes across well, not sure any comparisons to other managers are fair as he's clearly his own man, he's definitely not Rowett, who was a miserable Bamford at the best of times. I like he comes across as authentic and has a more light hearted demeanor. That will help to relieve some pressure.
I liked how he talked about entertainment and enjoyment, it's all been very serious the last 5 years, it'd be nice to have a more positive and enjoyable culture at the club.
Couple of things that stood out for me.
Pleased he talked about using the talent appropriately but also noted he was clear that they would be expected to run and fight more. Can't see any issues with that, we've clearly run out of energy at times this season, which had been put down to short pre-season but something they need to work on. Interesting to see how the players take to that, you'd think some will love it and others may be less keen!
His talk about the importance of his leadership team was interesting and not something we've heard at the club for a while. I remember Nigel Clough talking more in these terms. I think NC's loyalty to an average team didn't do him any favours, so let's hope PW's team is as good as he thinks it is.
He was clearly surprised at the size of the club infrastructure and personnel. You can see how he would have influenced absolutely everything at Rotherham (probably down to the brand of coffee!) and may find the size and competing agendas challenging in comparison. Everyone knows we are a big club with a rich history but until you're in the midst of it, I doubt you can fully appreciate the weight of expectation and demands of a bigger club regardless of our recent history. Interesting to see how he adapts to Derby as well as the other way around.
All in all, I liked what I heard and hope that, for him and for us, it's a good relationship and he can build on our strong foundations.

We all know that talk is cheap but it was nice to hear somebody talking with a point, and not just run of the mill platitudes.
He sounds charismatic and I couldn't decide whether he reminded me of Sean Dyche or Gary Rowett, please god let it be the former.
Hope he makes a good start because the last thing we need is for him to under pressure after 3 or 4 games because if he is to be successful then the fans must be patient.

I personally think that this is akin to a footballer dummying the keeper when taking a penalty.
If you are backing up correctly your bat should leave the crease as the bowler releases the ball. If the bowler then doesn't release the ball momentum is bound to result in you being out of your crease.
In my opinion this wasn't a case of the batter trying to gain an advantage, and it was everything about utilising the current rules as they stand, to win a game by whatever means it takes

Loughborough Ram got a reaction from MickD in Which players fit a Paul Warne team?
The quick answer to the thread title is, the players that buy into the plan. Some players will be happy to adapt their game and others less so but it's important that it's that way round in my opinion.
If Paul Warne is to be successful he must stick to his principles and get the players to adapt to what he wants, not the other way round.

Very odd, Rosenior was doing well enough to think that you'd only replace him if you could get a top name with a proven track record.
Paul Warne, in my opinion doesnt appear to be a step up, more of a step sideways, but I guess until we get more information, we'll just have to trust that the people in charge have a plan.

Freedom of speech exists. I can say whatever I want, to whoever I want, when I want and nobody can stop me.
People who trot out the freedom of speech argument are being disingenuous because what they actually want is freedom from consequence which has never been, nor will ever be, a thing.
Sensible people realise this and rightly, consider what they say and to who, which is how any normal society works.
