  1. Change isn't always a step forward.

People who would want to vote on an elected head of state, are surely the same people that want to abolish the monarchy, but they should take into account just how bad the people of this country are at electing officials. It would just introduce another level of power grabbing beurocracy, and would add very little, if anything at all, to the way we operate in this country.

The monarchy has its faults but in my opinion, changing to an elected head of state would create far more problems than it solved

  2. I work at Royal mail and whilst I am not in the union, I support the strike action.

In my opinion too much of the publicity around this strike has focused on pay when the majority of people I work with feel that it is the conditions that we are asked to work under, that are the real issue. If I didn't have a family to think of I would have left my job ages ago and gone on the dole as it is far and away the worst company that I have ever worked for, however at my time of life, and with my lack of qualifications there is little or no prospect of finding alternative employment.

In view of what I have explained it would a cold day in he'll before Royal Mail made a gesture of that nature in my opinion.

  3. We all have to bear in mind that for many teams in this division this is their biggest game of the season so there will be days when we don't get what we expect. Teams will give that extra 20% and get their tactics right against us so if we are off the pace we will suffer the same result as yesterday.

It was disappointing but we have enough experience in the dressing room to move on and go again in the next game and we have enough quality to beat any other team in this division as long as we treat every game with the respect it deserves.

Rosenior at this point doesn't appear to know his best team but that is understandable after half a dozen games, and I think most fans understand that and are patient enough at this stage.

Forget yesterday, on to the next opportunity.

  4. Dear lord! How we've been brainwashed by the constant whinging and whining of managers and players about their intolerable workload.

Tolerating time wasting so that players can have a rest? Is that a serious comment?

Warm up correctly and for the most part you should be ok especially these days when the players have their every move monitored by the little device in their sports bra.

I've said for a long time, the more players get paid the less we appear to expect from them. Football is an entertainment industry and as such has a duty to give value for money to their customers, time wasting does not fall into that requirement.

On a general point does anyone know why the transfer window doesnt close before the first game of the season so that teams can be settled? Not really sure why there also has to be a January transfer window.

Because the premiersh*t tried that but it ended up disadvantaging themselves because the rest of Europe could still buy their players until the end of August

  6. I wonder how many of these new signings will find themselves at Olympiakos in January at a massive profit for Forest?

If not the numbers just don't stack up, they are allegedly buying another forward today fir millions yet the ones that they have bought so far were only on the bench last night.

In my opinion that either means that Cooper is terrible at paying big money on players, like Arthur Cox whe Lionel gave him a Kings ransom to build a brand new team, or they are buying them as a group purchase and those that can't cut it have to go and play in Greece.

  7. What annoys me is that throw ins are fairly well policed, but long throw ins are given as long as you like. It seems that a minute for the left back to wander over to the right hand side, look for the ball, get a towel from the ball boy and then take as long a run up as they can, is acceptable.

But if we're winning and Forsyth can't find anybody to throw to, the yellow card is out after 15 seconds.

I thought we were waiting for young players at premier league clubs who should have a better idea of their chances of playing?

If you want decent Premiership loans they usually come with a guarantee of playing time. I'm not against that in the right circumstances but I also think that older players are more realistic about their chances of being first choice.

As with most things it's about balance I guess

  9.  I love all of the tactical advice that Collins is getting on here as to what he should be doing, I'm sure that he will take note and try some of the suggestions and I find it disappointing that neither he nor Liam Rosenior thought of these ideas!

As an ex centre forward I can confidently say that he will be doing exactly what he has done throughout his career to score goals. He will be making the same runs, doing the same thing when the ball arrives at his feet and putting the same amount of effort into his game but sometimes the ball just doesn't go for you. It's natural to worry about not scoring but he will know that that is counter productive

The one thing that he shouldn't do is over analyse. Trust that it will come and don't try to be too precise. There will be goalies that dive over the ball or drop it at his feet and everything will fall into place.

    His luck will change

  10. I really like the fact that when Knight scored there was no big celebration. A couple ran to get the ball and the rest, especially Knight, wanted to get the game started and go and win it, which of course they did.

Teams that keep going right to the end and score late goals are always successful, it becomes a habit and it definitely becomes something that other teams fear once you've done it a few times.

We have had plenty of chances to score against Charlton and again last night. I'm not buying this "parking the bus" crap.

Besides Collins (whose struggled since leaving Luton..) - I don't think any of those players are known goal scorers , it's no wonder we are struggling for them.

We need another option. Whether it's Cannon from Everton or more experience with goals in the locker.

If Roofe is a target, get him ffs

All of our forwards, with the exception of Dobbin, have contributed regular goals throughout their career, and a regular providers for others. I guess that some football fans are so determined to be downbeat that they are prepared to ignore facts.

  12. It's inconceivable to imagine that we will continue to struggle to score goals with Collins, Barkhuizen, Mendez-Laing, McGoldrick, Sibley and Dobbin as options especially if you add the set piece quality of Hourihane. And as we all know the best way to combat teams that park the bus is to score first.

One defeat from our first 5 competitive games, 1 loss in 3 away from home, 7 points from 4 league games, close to 2 points per game which over a season gives you 92 points and only 3 goals conceded. Last night was frustrating but lets be honest, there's plenty to be positive about if youre that way inclined.

  13. As with everything it gets better with practice.

The team will undobtedly run through endless drills of how to beat different types of press but with the best will in the world it will go wrong occasionally. I think that if you go back 18 months or so we make far less mistakes now than we did then.

We have a team that are almost all, comfortable on the ball so it would be a crying shame to throw away the principles of playing out from the back because of the odd error.

Don't forget that the nervousness that the crowd exhibit will also transmit to the players, so the more we sit back, relax and accept that errors are part and parcel of the big picture, the more we can help the players.

  14. If you're a forest fan I don't see that there's any reason for pessimism. They have gone up and spent big on players that generally should be able to contribute at Premiersh*t level.

As a fan of another club I would love to be able to laugh at them and be confident that they are going to be floundering at the bottom of the league but unfortunately I just don't see that being the case.

They are spending money that it is impossible to spend in the Championship due to FFP which is the root of the big problem facing football at the moment.

If they are relegated at the end of the season they are already virtual certainties to be promoted next season with the squad they will have, so as sad as it makes me feel, fair play to them.

Still hope that they have a sh*t season
