Bit odd to give the captain's armband to a player that's never shown any leadership credentials up to this point.
The "it might make him mature" argument is illogical and wouldn't hold water in any other industry. 
How would you feel if one of your colleagues who got your old team leader sacked because he crashed a car drunk with your team leader in it, and had a track record of letting you down a few times by losing his head in vital moments, was made team leader because it might by some magic sort out his flaws? 
I can't make sense of the argument that regular demonstrations of irresponsibility makes you the best person for a position of responsibility. We're talking about club captain here, not the Year 3 milk monitor.
None of this is criticism of Tom Lawrence's character as a professional footballer, by the way. His team-mates obviously still respect him and he has served punishments for his indiscretions. But to become club captain is a huge leap.

Are you suggesting that our method of signing players by going "he's looked alright in recent months!" and only worrying about how to fit them in once we've signed them is a flawed way of approaching the transfer market? But it's served us so well!

Forgot to mention, @EtoileSportiveDeDerby, that last time I went I took the train and then got a taxi to the circuit. The taxi driver at Northampton station said he knew a back road which would save us an hour, and having been to Silverstone dozens of times growing up, I thought "yeah right." But he genuinely did know a backroad, from which he picked us up after. Managed to get from track back to the station in 30 mins. Worth considering!
This has got better. Maybe it's because I live in London or because I go to lots of concerts/gigs, but kind of feels like food stalls and beer in general has inflated to the point where it's caught up with Silverstone prices.
Totally agree about making the support races. F2 can be really entertaining.
