It’s cute that we think this, but in all honesty, nobody gives a hoot about us. I could be wrong but I don’t think Ipswich or Sheff Wed were regarded as huge League One clubs. Derby aren’t any different.
Wrexham probably have the biggest pull these days. 

There is certainly one player at Oxford we were signing till they came in last minute and we weren't in a position to match the wage offer at that point.  I understand we were also keen on one player they signed previous to this, but wouldn't match the wage they offered as it was deemed too high with other options we had in the squad.

What I saw last night as people were forced out of their homes en masse then obliterated during their 'safe passage 'window would suggest otherwise very strongly.

Whether people care on not is irrelevant for the purpose of this argument.  They'd be wrong. Doncaster certainly exist.  I've seen them play.
I'd assume all these people on the other side of the world have also seen the Jim Smith side which ripped Arsenal, Man Utd, Chelsea and Liverpool a new one on a pretty regular basis.  3 in a row against Liverpool if memory serves, so I doubt one dog s*** singular season is their only abiding memory of Derby County.

I'm aware mate.  When time spent in this league has been so limited over 140 years, it has neon lights on.
